5 dicas para aprender a ler em Inglês – 5 tips to learn how to read in Portuguese

 

Quer ler em inglês? Não sabe por onde começar?
Algumas dicas básicas para você iniciar essa saga da leitura. (sim, vc vai demorar um pouco mais pra lê-los em outra língua, e isto é perfeitamente normal, não se sinta menos inteligente por isso!)

1) Sempre procure livros de assuntos de seu interesse. Qualquer assunto que seja do interesse da pessoa será ideal para que ela aprenda mais a língua estrangeira. Por exemplo, se você ama Harry Potter, assim como eu, por que não aprender lendo os livros de Harry Potter?

2) Leia o livro em português antes de lê-lo em inglês. Desta maneira mesmo o livro sendo mais dífícil em vocabulário e estruturas gramaticais, você consegue absorver muito.

3) Leia os livros em inglês no kindle, assim você consegue saber o significado de determinada palavra só selecionando ela na tela. Maneira ótima também de desenvolver o vocabulário, mas que possui os significados descritos em inglês, então não seria ideal para um iniciante (a não ser que você seja daquele tipo nerd esforçado e curioso – ou então já tenha lido o livro em português).

4) Fuja de livros policiais e médicos que contém terminologias difíceis até para quem é falante nativo da língua.

5) Procure livros mais simples. Os infantis são os mais simples e fáceis para quem está bem no início do aprendizado da língua. Peça dicas para amigos/professors etc desses livros. Há muita coisa legal e de quebra vc já seleciona alguns pro seu “futuro filho”. Um livro que posso citar aqui como extremamente fácil de se ler quando iniciante é O Mágico de Oz. Vale a pena e você encontra versões pocket MUITO baratas nas livrarias.

Do you want to read in Portuguese? Don’t you know where to start?
Here are some basic tips so you can start your reading on a foreign language saga (yeah, you’ll take a while too read a book in other language, and this is perfectly normal, don’t feel less intelligent because of that!)

1) Always look for books with subjects of your interest. Any subject that intrigues you will be perfect for you to learn more of a foreign language. For example, if you love Harry Potter, as much as I do, why don’t you learn by reading Harry Potter books?

2) Read the book in English before reading it in Portuguese. that way even if the book is a little bit difficult in vocabulary and grammar structures, you’ll absorb much more.

3) Ready books in Portuguese on Kindle, that way you can know the meaning of the words by selecting them on the screen. That’s a very good way to absorb and develop vocabulary too.

4) Run Away from Police and medical books which contain very hard terminologies even for the native speakers of the language.

5) Look for simpler books. The infant ones are simpler and easier to who is starting to learn the language. Ask for tips from your friends/teacher etc about these books. There are lots of cool things and you take the chance to select some books for your “future child”. One book and can tell for sure that it extremely easy to be read when you’re a beginner is The Wizard of Oz. It’s worth and you can find many pocket version of it on the book stores (not sure if there are Portuguese versions on pocket if you are English speaker, but I’m pretty sure you can find it on Amazon for kindle at least).
