Entrevista Exclusiva com CM Carpi (Exclusive Interview with CM Carpi)

Ontem foi o lançamento do livro Por Trás Daqueles Olhos aqui em Jaguariúna, e eu não perdi tempo indo conseguir um autógrafo da CM Carpi para o meu exemplar. Mas além do autógrafo eu consegui uma entrevista exclusiva com ela sobre o livro e planos para o próximo volume.

 

ENTREVISTA

1) Como e quando surgiu a ideia de escrever o livro? E porque esse gênero específico?
CM Carpi -> Eu não sei quando a ideia surgiu exatamente. Sou uma leitora compulsiva e desde criança ficava criando historias dentro da minha cabeça. Até mesmo quando brincava de boneca. Então um tarde, enquanto aguardava o próximo cliente chegar, comecei a escrever um pequeno trecho, para ver como ficava e daí não parei mais. Não sei se escolhi o gênero, acho que ele me escolheu…

2) Como foi o processo de criação da história? Você já teve a ideia de tudo que iria acontecer ou foi trabalhando em cima de uma primeira ideia (exemplo Elena largando o noivo no altar)?
CM Carpi -> O primeiro capítulo que escrevi foi o encontro dos dois no café em Verona ( quando Elena está esperando pelo príncipe encantado). Logo depois, escrevi o final… Acreditem, eu escrevi o final antes de tudo e depois disso, a história ganhou vida própria. Eu não dormia, era como se Daniel e Elena falassem comigo o tempo todo… e ainda falam…

3) Somos deixando no meio de uma tremenda problemática no final de Por Trás Daqueles Olhos, e já sabemos que você está trabalhando no próximo volume da história. A história será dividida em quantos livros? Seria ela uma trilogia?
CM Carpi -> O final realmente foi um grande problema. Fique com muito medo de que isso deixasse os leitores furiosos, acho que alguns ficaram. Desculpa!!! Mas ainda existe tanta coisa a ser explorada, tantos sentimentos para virem a tona que não caberia em um livro só. Ao todo serão dois livros.

4)Teremos mais Adam no livro 2? E a vó de Elena, aparecerá?
CM Carpi -> Ah! O Adam! Adam estará muito presente no segundo livro e será o causador de uma grande crise de ciúmes em Daniel. A senhora Shepherd, ops! Grace também terá capítulos importantes. Elena precisará de muitos conselhos e talvez um pouquinho de colo…

5) Algum personagem ou local visitado por Elena e Daniel no livro foi baseado em alguma pessoa/lugar que você conhece?
CM Carpi -> Alguma cidades da Itália, conheci durante uma viagem em 2012. Achei todos aqueles lugares incríveis e de certa forma, alguma coisa deve ter começado ali. Aquela cidade são encantadoras, especialmente Veneza. Tentei colocar no livro o que senti quando cheguei naqueles lugares. Nova York foi escolhida para ser a casa deles por pura paixão… minha paixão. Não conheço NY, mas sabe quando existe um tipo de conexão? Quando parece que você já faz parte do lugar? Acho que é assim que me sinto.

Yesterday was the release of the book Por Trás Daqueles Olhos (Behind Those Eyes) in Jaguariúna, and I did not miss any time on getting CM Carpi’s autograph for my copy. But besides the autograph I was able to get an exclusive interview with her about the book and plans to the next volume.

 

INTERVIEW

1) How and when you came up with the idea of writing the book? And why this specific gender?
CM Carpi -> I don’t know when the idea came up exactly. I’m a compulsive reader and since I was a child I used to create stories inside my head. Even when I played with dolls. The, ne afternoon, while I was waiting the next client to arrive, I started to write a small piece, to see how it would be, and then I did not stop any more. I don’t know if I chose the gender, I guess the gender chose me…

2)How was the process of the story creation? Have you had the idea of everything that would happen or have you worked on a first idea (example Elena leaving her fiance at the altar)?
CM Carpi -> The first chapter that I wrote was their meeting at that coffee shop in Verona (when Elena is waiting for her prince charming). Right after that, I wrote the end of the story…believe me, I wrote the end before everything and then after that, the story gained its own life. I did not sleep, it was like Daniel and Elena were speaking to me the whole time…and they still do.

3) We’re left on a cliffhanger in the end of Behind Those Eyes, and we already know you’re working on the next volume of the story. In How many books will the story be divided? Would it be a trilogy?
CM Carpi -> The end was really a issue.I was afraid that I would make the readers furious, and some did for sure. Sorry!!! But there’s still so many things to be explored, so many feelings to come to life that they wouldn’t fit on a single book. So, it will be two books.

4)Will we have more Adam on the book 2? And Elena’s grandma, is she going to appear more?
CM Carpi -> Ah! Adam! Adam will be very present on the second book and he will be the reason of a great Daniel’s jealous of crisis. Mrs Sheperd, ops! Grace will also have very important chapters. Elena will need a lot of her advises and maybe some cuddles…

5) Some character or place visited by Elena and Daniel on the book was based on some person/place you know?
CM Carpi -> Some cities from Italy, I was able to go during a 2012 trip. I thought all that places awesome and somehow, something must have started there. Those cities were super charming, specially Venice. I tried to put on the book the way I felt there. New york was chosen to be their home because of pure passion…my passion for the place. I don’t know NY, but you know when there’s that kind of connection with the place? when it seems that you’re already part of the place? I think this is how I feel.
