Mentirosos – E. Lockhart (We Were Liars)

Fazia um tempinho que eu não ficava tão impressionada por um livro como fiquei com este. Eu simplesmente não conseguia parar de ler do meio do livro pra frente. Eu precisava descobrir o que tinha acontecido no verão dos quinze tanto quanto Cadence precisava. O começo foi meio devagar, mas tudo que é falado é de extrema importância para a história toda. Uma puta história onde a realidade vai bater na sua cara quando você menos esperar.
A narrativa, contada por Cadence, fala da vida da Familía Sinclair, da ilha na qual a família toda passa os verões, e do grupo de amigos/primos que Cadence anda quando está lá, que se chama Mentirosos. Até que no verão que Cady tem quinze anos um acidente acontece, e ela fica com sequelas que a fazem não lembrar exatamente o que aconteceu durante todo aquele verão. Durante os próximos 2 anos a família tenta evitar que ela volte a ilha, e seus amigos não respondem nenhuma de suas tentativas de contato. E então quando Cady tem 17 anos ela consegue voltar pra ilha, e vai tentar lembrar o que exatamente aconteceu no verão dos quinze.
Sério, não tem como comentar, vocês precisam ler!!! O livro foi tão surpreendente que não tenho palavras pra descrever. Eu sofri com a Cady durante todo o período que ela tentava se lembrar, e mais ainda quando tudo vem a tona. É genial, é brutal, é demais! Valer a pena não descreve o que gostaria de falar sobre a leitura deste livro. Digo apenas que foi talvez o melhor livro de 2015 que li.
Não dá pra comentar muito pois é uma história investigativa, há um mistério, mas só para enfatizar tudo que disse, estou fazendo essa resenha logo após ter fechado a última página do livro (Obrigada por estar de férias quando fui ler esse livro Deus!) porque não dá pra tirar o livro da cabeça!

Eu pensei em tantas possibilidades do que podia ter acontecido naquele verão dos quinze e nenhuma das opções chegou perto do que realmente aconteceu. A narrativa foi realmente muito bem construída. Depois que você conhece o desfecho daí começa a pensar nas pequenas dicas espalhadas pelo livro, o fato deles nunca responderem os e-mails da Cady, não terem recebido os presentes, não irem jantar na caso do avô, até mesmo o fato do avô ter construído uma casa nova na ilha…daí tudo começa a fazer sentido.

It’s been a while since I was so surprised by a book like this. I simply could not stop reading after the middle of the book. I needed to discover what had happened on the summer of the fifteen as much as Cadence did. The beginning of the reading is a bit slow but everything that is showed is important to the whole storyline.It’s a story where reality will hit your face when you least expect.
The narrative, told by Cadence, speaks about Sinclair family, the island they spend all the summers, the group of friends/cousins that Cadence is part of when she’s there, which is called Liars. Until the summer Cady is fifteen an accident happens, and she has some after effects that made her not to remember exactly what happened on that summer. During the next 2 years her family tries to avoid sending her back to the island, and her friends/cousins stop answering her contact tries. Then, when she is 17 she is able to be back at there, and she will try to remember exactly what happened on the fifteen summer.
Serious, there’s no comments I can make, you need to read to know better!! the books is so surprising that I have no words to describe it. I suffer with Cady the whole story while she tries to remember what exactly happened, and even more when she discovers everything. It’s genius, it’s brutal, it’s awesome! Worth does not describe what I want to speak about this book. I only say that maybe it was the best book I’ve read in 2015.
I can’t make any more comments because this is an investigative story, there’s a mystery on it, but just to emphasize all I said, I’m writing this digest right after I closed the last page of the book (Thank God I was on vacation when I read it!) because you can’t take the book out of your head!

I thought so many possibilities of what could have happened on that summer of the fifteen and none of my thoughts came any closer to what really happened. The narrative was really well designed. After you discovers what happened you starts to thinks on the little details spread over the book, the fact they never answered any of Cady’s e-mails, the fact they haven’t received her gifts, the fact they don’t go to have dinner on their grandfather’s house any more, even the fact the grandfather had built a new house on the island…there you can see everything begins to make sense.
