Granuaile – Sea Queen Of Ireland – Anne Chambers (Granuaile – A Rainha do Mar da Irlanda)

Grace O’Maley (nicknamed Granuaile) is a super strong female figure and famous in Ireland. It was a ‘pirate’ Irish (years 1530-1603). He had a life of great deeds, married 2 times, and has even personally talk to Queen Elizabeth I in 1593 to negotiate the release of one of his sons who had been captured by the British government.
I won the book of a dear friend who lives there in Ireland when I asked her to bring me some good Irish book for me to read. It was very interesting to read and well quickie, since the book is not very big.
During the days I read I was wondering if all that was being narrated was actually true and as I finished I went for some research on the internet. And finally, all I found in Wikepedia about him confirms what’s in the book, so I think we can say that this is a reliable source about its history.
Those who enjoy Irish culture, and who are all full of curiosity about pirates think going to love her story. Oh, and something else. The book is in English and no translation into Portuguese, then who’s at least a basic level of English has a chance to be able to read it. (his English is not very difficult not).
