O Segredo do meu marido – Liane Moriarty (The Husband's Secret)

o segredo do meu marido

Super recomendo.

A book that will cheat on you because of its slow beginning, but that after page 80 reveals itself full of secrets, and I’m not talking only the secret of the husband who gives name to the title.

The book tells the story of three women (Cecília / Tess / Rachel) who will somehow cross paths. It is at this point on page 80 that I say that the story begins to get good.

Cecilia, who is married to John Paul, one day, finds a letter he wrote to be opened on the occasion of his death in the attic of the house they live. Cecilia then talks on the telephone with John-Paul about the letter, which after asking her not to read, returns before the time of a work trip looking for the letter. Because of this, Cecilia will obviously be curious, and will end up reading the letter. But when she finally discovers what was in it, she does not know what to do with the truth.

Tess has just returned to her mother’s house with her son Liam because her husband Will and her cousin and best friend Felicity decided to reveal to her that they were in love and wanted to live their great love. As she tries to digest this story and figure out who was to blame for it, she engages with an ex-boyfriend, Connor Whitby, now a professor of Physical Education at the school where she enrolls Liam and where Cecilia’s daughters study.

Rachel is the lady who practically runs the school where Cecilia’s daughters and Liam study. She lives alone in the same neighborhood and spends days tormented by her 17-year-old daughter murdered many years ago. She has a strong belief that the real murderer (since case is still unresolved) is Connor, the PE school teacher, and will do her best to seek justice and completion for this case.

These three stories will cross each other and culminate in a bombastic conclusion. But be careful because what you think is bombastic may not be the real bombastic final because the last pages are full of WTF revelations!

A tasty reading completely great from middle to the end. I really liked it and will read another book by Liane because of the great time I spent with this one. Super Worth.
