A Mediadora: A hora mais sombria (The Mediator: The darkest hour)

ScreenHunter_01 May. 02 11.00

Suze Simon is working in a resort on her summer vacation, when she meets a boy who can also see the dead, Jack Slater. She then becomes a kind of mentor to Jack, and teaches him what it is to be a mediator. But Suze’s problems / adventures go far beyond our small mediator. With the flirt of Jack’s older brother Paul Slater, and with Suze having to admit to herself that she really is in love with Jesse (the ghost who lives in her room) since no matter how hard she tries she can not be interested in others Boys, Suze receives a visit from a spirit she particularly disliked, Maria de Silva, Jesse’s ex-fiancée, which makes her more possessed than ever. When Maria de Silva threatens to kill her if she does not make the reforms in the back of her yard stop, Suze starts to be sure that something very valuable is buried there.

OK OK, reading this plot I wrote up right above, you sure think this will be an adventure more or less like Book 3, but no. Book 4 of the Mediator series finally begins to unfold the larger story behind Jesse’s life and the romance between him and Suze however much she has denied to the present. From Book 4 to the sixth to great story will be around Suze and Jesse.

The character that surprises me in this story is Paul. He starts out as the that does not accept a girl’s no, in Suze’s case, but ends up as a great “villain” of the story. We find out that he is not only a mediator, he has never helped and explained to his brother about what he knows and that he also made a point of helping Maria de Silva and Diego to exorcise Jesse. Yes, people, Jesse is exorcised! Poor thing! And if it were not for the crazy Suze and if she hadn’t exorcised herself to go get him there in the “middle land”, the poor fellow would be gone forever against his will.
The mystery of the end of the darkest hour is for Paul to appear there in the middle land when Suze and Jesse are trying to return to our world and say that Suze could have gone there without having exorcised herself like him. Mystery that will be solved in the next volume.
The end finally ends with Jesse kissing Suze when the two return home after all this roll with the Diego.
