Homem Aranha – de volta ao lar e a magia dos filmes de John Hughes dos anos 80

Quando fui assistir Mulher Maravilha saí do cinema achando que este seria o melhor filme que vi em 2017, mas precisei apenas de metade do filme do Homem Aranha para mudar de ideia. Até agora este é o melhor filme do ano para mim.

Todos os personagens estão ótimos e bem construídos, a começar pelo vilão, que sim tem um motivo plausível para ser um vilão. É fato,  você vai simpatizar com o Abutre e por vezes até concordar com várias frases do mesmo. Este vilão está ganhando de longe de todos os outros que já vi nos filmes do Aranha.

A tia May continua fantástica, e pra mim o fato dela ser diferentona do esteriótipo tia velha dos antigos filmes só agregou. A relação dela com Peter é algo que lembra muito filmes dos anos 80 (especialmente os de John Hughes) pois Peter faz muita coisas escondido dela. E quem concorda comigo que filme com jovens dos anos 80 sempre tinha algum deles fazendo algo escondido dos pais? Gente, sempre.

Os colegas de Peter da escola são todos muito bem desenvolvidos nas suas características próprias. Ned, melhor amigo de Peter e companheiro na nerdice e introversão ficou perfeito com toda sua fixação por heróis galácticos e empolgação a respeito do Aranha. Liz, o primeiro interesse romântico de Peter também é uma personagem interessante pois tem iniciativa e não é fútil apesar de claramente fazer parte das pessoas mais populares da escola. Já Michelle(MJ), é o tipo da garota rebelde, engajada nas causas das minorias e tão inteligente quanto Peter e Ned.  Até o Flash apesar de toda chaticesse tem seus encantos e o personagem ficou perfeito ao que se propõe.

Agora me digam se os filmes do John Hughes não estão recheados de personagens super parecidos com os descritos acima? Sem contar o Peter logicamente. Este precisa de um parágrafo só dele.

Sim sim, pois Tom Holland pra mim se tornou o melhor Aranha de todos. Ele conseguiu unir nerdice, descontração, desejo de justiça, preocupação com a tia, paixonite de colégio, espírito aventureiro tudo num personagem só e sem parecer forçado. O cara é o Aranha e ponto.

Meu marido expert em quadrinhos concorda comigo neste ponto, o que quer dizer que ele também está fazendo um bom trabalho cobrindo as características originais deste personagem.

Os filmes dos anos 80 de John Hughes estão presentes desde pequenos detalhes como as roupas da tia May até as várias cenas que fazem alusão clara a Curtindo a Vida Adoidado, Clube dos Cinco, Garota de Rosa Shocking etc. Pra mim a cena onde revivemos aquela corrida de Ferris Bueller pela vizinhança quando Peter está perseguindo uns vendedores de arma foi o ponto alto do filme. Em determinado momento vemos até um trecho do filme em uma das TVs da vizinhança deixando claro que a referência é a está cena. E enfim, sou suspeita pra falar de Ferris Bueller porque este é só o meu filme preferido de todos os tempos. Assunto para um post solo.

Por fim devo dizer que a presença do Home de Ferro foi muito pequena, e pra mim ele meio que substituiu o tio Ben, que nem é citado na história a não ser quando Peter e Ned comentam que a tia May já sofreu muito e a gente meio que infere que seja por conta dele. Achei que ficou ótimo assim pois já estava cansada de toda temática repetitiva de “com grandes poderes vem grandes responsabilidades”.

Também temos pequenas participações do Capitão América nos vídeos educativos da escola, o que de novo me lembra muito diversas cenas de filmes 80. E o que deixa tudo mais legal é que  todo o universo Marvel foi perfeitamente encaixado na vida desse Aranha.  Temos várias cenas principalmente na escola onde os eventos de Nova Iorque e Sokóvia são mencionados, sem contar os comentários a respeito dos heróis feito pelos alunos. Só digo que estou ansiosa para ver o encontro de todo mundo no Guerra Infinita. Com certeza será um filme épico, afinal não é sempre que temos o final/junção de personagens que vem sendo apresentados no mesmo universo cinematográfico a 10 anos.

Spider Man – Homecoming and the magic of  the John Hughes 80’s movies

When I watched Wonder Woman I left the theater thinking that this would be the best movie I saw in 2017, but I only needed half of the Spider-Man movie to change my mind. So far this is the best movie of the year for me.

All the characters are great and well built, starting with the villain, who has a plausible reason for being a villain. It is a fact, you will sympathize with the Vulture and sometimes even agree with several of his quotes. This villain is winning by far from all the others I’ve seen in the Spider-Man movies.

Aunt May is still fantastic, and the fact that she’s different from the old-fashioned aunt of the old movies just added. Her relationship with Peter reminds a lot the 1980s (especially John Hughes) because Peter does a lot of things hidden from her. And who agrees with me that the movies with the youth of the 80’s always had some of them doing something hidden from their parents? Guys, always.

Peter’s classmates from the school are all very well developed in their own characteristics. Ned, Peter’s best friend and buddy in nerd and introversion was perfect with all his fixation by galactic heroes and excitement about the Spider. Liz, Peter’s first romantic interest is also an interesting character because she has initiative and is not futile despite clearly being part of the most popular people at school. Now Michelle (MJ), is the type of rebel girl, engaged in the causes of minorities and as smart as Peter and Ned. Even Flash despite all boringness has his charms and the character was perfect to what is proposed.

Now tell me if the John Hughes movies are not stuffed with characters super like the ones described above? Not to mention Peter logically. He needs a solo paragraph.

Yes, yes, because Tom Holland for me became the best Spider of all. He managed to unite nerd, playfull, desire for justice, concern for his aunt, high school love, adventurous spirit all in one character and without seeming forced. The guy is the Spider and period.

My husband, a comic expert, agrees with me at this point, which means he is also doing a good job covering the original personality of this character.

John Hughes’ 80s films are present from small details like Aunt May’s clothes to the several scenes that make a clear allusion to Ferris Bueller Day Off, The Breakfast CLub, Pretty in Pink etc. For me the scene where we relive that Ferris Bueller race around the neighborhood when Peter is chasing gun vendors was the highlight of the movie. At one point, we even see an excerpt from the movie on one of the TVs in the neighborhood making it clear that the reference is to this scene. And anyway, I’m suspicious to talk about Ferris Bueller because this is just my favorite movie of all time. Subject to a solo post.

Finally, I must say that the presence of Iron Man was very small, and for me he kind of replaced Uncle Ben, who is not even mentioned in the story except when Peter and Ned comment that Aunt May has suffered a lot and we kind of understand this is about him. I thought it was great because I was tired of all the repetitive theme of “with great powers comes great responsibilities”.

We also have small participation of Captain America in the educational videos of the school, which again reminds me a lot of 80’s movie scenes. And what makes it cooler is that the entire Marvel universe has been perfectly embedded in this Spider’s life. We have several scenes mainly at the school where the events of New York and Sokovia are mentioned, not to mention the comments about the heroes made by the students. I’m just saying that I’m anxious to see all the gang meeting in the Infinite War. It will certainly be an epic movie, after all it is not always that we have the end / junction of characters that have been presented in the same movie universe during 10 years
