Métrica

Métrica é um excelente livro. A mistura de fatalidades e de destino é perfeita para quem quer que esteja procurando um drama de categoria.

Nessa leitura você começa a ver que Colleen tinha muito potencial ( o que se provou verdade com seus próximos romances) pois a ideia toda da história é bem legal e o jeito dela de escrever te deixa muito empolgado para saber o que vai acontecer.

A história basicamente gira em torno de Layken e Will. Ela muda de cidade com a mãe e o irmão depois da morte repentina do pai e no primeiro contato com seu vizinho (Will) descobre que a vida dos dois tem muito em comum no quesito perdas repentinas e algo muito intenso rola entre os dois. Eles resolvem sair num encontro no mesmo fim de semana que se conhecem, mas assim que Layken chega na escola nova na segunda descobre que esse romance não tem muito futuro.

A partir daí muito irá se desenrolar mas Colleen guarda grandes surpresas para o final do livro, que é realmente eu diria meio bombástico.Lembrem-se que fatalidades/destino não foram palavras citadas no começo deste texto em vão.

Enfim, achei o final muito legal e não senti necessidade de uma continuação Mas… então o povo com mania de apego agudo conseguiu fazer Colleen voltar na história e…

Pausa

Precisava de continuação? Não precisava. Essa foi um continuação desnecessária? Eu diria que em grande parte sim.

Neste livro vemos a relação entre Layken e Will se desenvolver, mas aí no meio Colleen insere a ex-namorada dele, que vem arrependida atrás de Will. Até aí normal, mas Layken começar a colocar um monte de caraminholas na cabeça foi meio nada a ver. Enfim, os dois terão se superar aí os conflitos gerados a partir deste evento para saber se o que os une é realmente amor, ou apenas consequência de tudo tão semelhante que passaram.

Pra mim o livro deveria ter sido metade se contarmos as partes que realmente estavam acontecendo algo. Colleen escreve bem? Fato. Mas até um bom texto, se muito esticado acaba parecendo ruim.

Terminei a leitura sabendo que deveria ter parado no primeiro. O que me leva a pensar porque as pessoas ainda quiseram mais, e como Colleen aceitou fazer um 3º livro sendo que o 2º já não tinha sido grande coisa. Explicação que encontro é da parte dos fãs o péssimo hábito de nunca querer se desapegar e da parte da autora, grana.

Essa Garota

Se Pausa pra mim foi desnecessário, esse aqui eu não consigo nem descrever. Aliás, eu abandonei a leitura no meio porque gente, não tinha como. Muito mais do mesmo. Me senti perdendo meu tempo sabe.

Não pela linguagem maravilhosa da Colleen, mas pela narrativa sem nenhuma novidade mesmo, já que neste 3º livro Will fica respondendo perguntas de Layken sobre a história dos dois quando estão na lua de mel.

Não aconselho ninguém a gastar dinheiro com ele, eu mesma vou comprar do físico apenas o Métrica quando puder.

 

Slammed

Slammed is an excellent book. The mix of fatalities and fate is perfect for anyone looking for a top drama.

In this reading you start to see that Colleen had a lot of potential (which has proved true with her upcoming novels) because the whole idea of the story is very cool and her way of writing makes you very excited to know what will happen.

The story is basically about Layken and Will. She moves to another city with her mother and brother after her father’s sudden death and in the first contact with her neighbor (Will) she discovers that their lives have much in common regarding sudden losses and something very intense begins between the two. They decide to go out on a meeting the same weekend they meet, but once Layken arrives at the new school on Monday, she discovers that this love story does not have much future.

From there a lot will unfold but Colleen holds great surprises for the end of the book, which is really I would say half bombastic. Remember that fatalities / fate were not words quoted at the beginning of this text in vain.

Anyway, I found the end very cool and did not feel the need for a sequel, but … then the people with attachment addiction managed to make Colleen go back to the story and …

Point of Retreat

Was there any need of a sequel? No need. Was that an unnecessary sequel? I would say that to a large extent yes.

In this book, we see the relationship between Layken and Will be developed, but there in the middle Colleen inserts his ex-girlfriend, who comes to apologize to Will and try to get in back. So far normal, but Layken start putting a lot of silly thoughts on her head. Finally, the two must overcome the conflicts generated from this event to know if what unites them is really love, or just the consequence of everything so similar that they have passed.

For me the book should have been half if we count the parts that were actually happening something. Colleen writes well? Fact. But even a good text, if stretched too much ends up looking bad.

I finished the reading knowing that I should have stopped at the first one. Which leads me to think why people still wanted more, and how Colleen agreed to make a 3rd book since the 2nd had not been a big deal. Explanation that I find from the fans is the bad habit of never wanting to let go and from the part of the author, money.

This girl

If Point of Retreat (for me) was unnecessary, this one I cannot even describe. In fact, I left the reading in the middle because people, couldn’t keep going. Much more of the same. I felt losing my time you know.

Not by the wonderful language of Colleen, but by the narrative without any news, since in this third book Will is answering questions of Layken about their story when they are on the honeymoon.

I do not advise anyone to spend money on it, I’ll buy Metric only when I can.
