Bela Chama – Jamie Mcguire (Beautiful Burn)

Minhas amigas do clube acharam este o melhor livro de todos, e do ponto de vista de escrita e desenvolvimento da história eu preciso concordar que este realmente foi o melhor. Jamie conseguir fazer uma romance totalmente balanceado entre a história de amor apresentada- que foi bem adulta- (achei a mais adulta de todas) e o drama e cenas picantes nela contidas.

A história é narrada por Ellison, que é uma garota extremamente rica e mimada e que possui um vício descontrolado por bebida. Ela conhece Tyler em uma das várias festas que dá durante a baixa temporada de incêndios no Colorado, e a química entre os dois é sentida logo de cara.

Obrigada a trabalhar para ganhar seu próprio sustento pelos pais após mais uma bola fora dada, ela acaba indo trabalhar num jornal muito perto da cede dos bombeiros e o encontro e envolvimento com Tyler vai acabar sendo inevitável. Mas Tyler tem um inimigo muito mais poderoso para ser vencido do que apenas a conquista de Ellie, já que ela é uma mulher cheia de demônios interiores e o vício é o que dita sua vida.

Devo deixar registrado que o Tyler é o meu segundo Maddox preferido. Só perde para o Thomas. E enfim, acho que grande parte disso tem a ver com a história deste 4º livro da série ter sido a mais bem narrada.

Isso teve um impacto bom e ruim para a leitura do próximo livro. Bom porque eu fiquei muito curiosa para ler e comprei o livro na pré-venda para vocês terem uma noção, e ruim porque achei que Belo Funeral foi o mais fraco de todos da série, mas isso é assunto para o próximo post.

My book club friends think this is the best book from the series, and from the point of view of writing and story development I need to agree that this really was the best. Jamie managed to make a totally balanced novel between the love story presented – which was very adult – (I think the most adult of them all) and the drama and hot scenes contained in it.

The story is told by Ellison, who is an extremely rich and spoiled girl with an uncontrolled addiction to drinking. She meets Tyler at one of several parties she gives during the low-fire season in Colorado, and the chemistry between them is felt right up front.

Forced by her parents to earn her own money for living after another mess made, she ends up going to work in a newspaper very close to the fire department and the meeting and involvement with Tyler is going to be inevitable. But Tyler will have a far more powerful enemy to fight against than just the conquest, since Ellie is a woman full of inner demons and addiction is what dictates her life.

I should note that Tyler is my second favorite Maddox. Just losing to Thomas. And anyway, I think a lot of that is related with the story of this 4th book in the series being the best narrated.

This had a good and bad impact on reading the next book. Good because I was very curious to read and bought the book in the pre-sale, and bad because I thought Beautiful Funeral was the weakest of all in the series, but that’s a subject for the next post
