Se nada der certo até os 30, você se casa comigo? – Karina Halle (The Pact)

Linden, Stephanie e James são amigos desde os 20 anos. Desde que se conheceram, Linden e Steph sempre tiveram uma atração diferente um pelo outro, mas como Steph estava namorando James quando o conheceu e depois rompeu o relacionamento, os 3 acabaram mantendo apenas uma bela amizade.

No aniversário de 25 anos de Steph, Linden a faz concordar que se ambos não estiverem comprometidos até os 30 anos, eles irão se casar. O que eles não sabem na época mas irão descobrir depois é que James ainda gosta de Steph, e Linden então terá que decidir o que honrar.

O livro basicamente conta todas as desventuras que os dois enfrentam até termos nosso final feliz esperado. Tinha tudo para ser um bom livro, já que há diversas comédias românticas com a mesma premissa que funcionaram super bem, mas pra mim foi uma leitura chata.

Eu achei que a história foi desenvolvida com justificativas muito rasas para as atitudes dos personagens e há muitos clichês levados ao pé da letra no meio destas justificativas rasas, o que fez, para mim pelo menos, a história ficar mala e eu acabei perdendo o interesse. Não houveram acontecimentos pertinentes e bem narrados que me prendessem a história, embora as cenas quentes sejam super legais.

Os personagens principais também não te prendem, e muito menos o ” vilão”. Tudo é muito caricato e portanto sem graça.

Talvez se quando a história tivesse chegado nos 80% a autora tivesse terminado a história eu a acharia um pouquinho menos mala, mas com tudo que acontece no final não dá pra perdoar.

Há romances e romances e este não é um que valha a leitura na minha opinião.

Linden, Stephanie and James have been friends since the age of 20. Since they met, Linden and Steph felt attracted to each other, but at the time Steph was dating James and when she broke the relationship, the 3 ended up on a friend zone.

On Steph’s 25th birthday, Linden makes her agree that if both are not committed until the age of 30, they will get married. What they don’t know when they do it, but will find out later, is that James still likes Steph, and Linden will then have to decide what to honor.

The book basically tells all the misfortunes the two face until we get our happy ending expected. It had everything to be a good romantic book, since there are several romantic comedies with the same premise that were super good, but for me it was a boring read.

I  think that the story was developed with very shallow justifications for the characters’ attitudes and there are many cliches taken literally in the middle of these shallow justifications, which made for me, at least, the story to be boring and I ended up losing interest . There were no pertinent, well-told events to catch me, though the hot scenes were super cool.

The main characters also do not captivate you, not even the “villain” does. Everything is very caricature and therefore boring.

Maybe if by the time the story had reached 80% the author would have finished the it I would find it a little less boring, but with everything that happens in the end I can’t forgive.

There are novels and novels and this is not a worth reading in my opinion.
