Bingo!

This book is a watershed in my life, so much that I got a tattoo about it to always remember the moment that I finally understood that I had always been dominated by my ego, and that the biggest reason for my “suffering” was myself, in case my ego.

Eckhart explains that all we think we are is actually a construction fruit of our coexistence with other people, from our parents in our childhood to the rest of society as our age advances.
You grow up believing you like this or you need to do that much more by the influence of external factors than your true self. So, the one who generally dictates the rules of your life is your ego, and you don’t even realize it.

The purpose of the book is to awaken your consciousness, which would be your true self, who you really are, and who is hidden deep within you by the shell of your ego.

And we will understand that the way to find it is a difficult road, yes, but not impossible. You need to police yourself a lot to start realizing when you yourself are acting and when your ego is acting. When you have these moments of identification where you think “come on, this is not my reaction, this is a reaction of my ego” it simply dissolves your ego and you will feel your consciousness taking control and instantly feel better, because its true I know that you are and that no external event can change what you are.

When a co-worker, friend or family member offends you or criticizes you, you become very angry. Actually who was angry was not you, because your true self knows that what a certain person is talking about is not true. The one who got angry was your ego, and your ego needs things like that to justify its inferiority complex, for example. Bingo! From the moment you identify something like that, you are awakening.

The book for me was liberating in the sense that you come to understand much more the re (actions) of the people with whom you live, and in summary you end up having more tolerance towards them because you begin to identify things that before you would not notice in the same way without being conscious.

Once you start observing the people around, self-observation will come as a consequence, at least with me it was so. I can say that until today I consider this a great challenge, and it may be until the end of my life, but this is a struggle that I nowadays  deal with in a much more fair way than before when I did not even know who the real enemy was.

This is the kind of book you need to reread constantly, and if it’s up to me, I’ll always have it on the headboard. Not only do I recommend it, but I have already gave it as a gift to several people, because of my desire that they improve their way of facing the facts of life, as I have improved mine is very strong.

Buy and do not give up reading. It is very difficult and challenging to look within yourself, but the benefits that you will have after this difficult time will make up for the reflection time.
