Five Feet Apart – Rachel Lipincott (A cinco passos de você)

Para tudo que essa história é sensacional! Gente, sério, eu queria muito ler o livro desde o momento que descobri que transformaram o roteiro do filme em romance também.

Como boa pessoa ansiosa que sou, comprei em inglês mesmo no kindle (thank God for it!)  e li em um dia! Sim, a história me pegou tanto que sentei ler e só parei quando terminei (mentira, parei pra jantar no meio da leitura hehehe).

Iremos conhecer a história de Stella e Will, dois jovens que vivem com Fibrose Cística, uma doença que condena a pessoa a um tempo de vida bem menor que o de uma pessoa normal. Durante os acontecimentos iremos descobrir muito a respeito da doença em si, cuidados etc que pessoas que possuem essa doença precisam graças as explicações de Stella. Aliás, ela possui um canal no Youtube onde mostra sua rotina de tratamento a anos.

Stella conhece Will quando vai para o hospital que frequenta desde sua infância para tratar uma dor de garganta. Will está lá tentando um tratamento alternativo para uma bactéria que ele contraiu e que o impede de continuar na fila por um transplante de pulmão.

A princípio Stella não o curte nem um pouco, mas como ambos estão meio que presos num hospital sem muito o que fazer, Will acaba tirando essa falsa impressão dela e Stella acaba se oferecendo para ajudá-lo a fazer seu tratamento direitinho, já que ela percebe que ele o neglicencia o tempo todo.

Ela divide tudo que acontece com Poe, seu amigo de infância, que também possui fibrose cística e também está no hospital tratando uma bronquite. Gente, e é tão fofo a relação dos dois sabe, e óbvio que Poe saca o quanto Stella está apaixonada só pelas atitudes dela com relação a Will, que diferente do que todos imaginavam acaba seguindo tudo que Stella pede, pois também se apaixona perdidamente.

A história contém um grande mistério posso dizer, que será descoberto por Will, e que se relaciona ao grande motivo de Stella querer continuar viva custe o que custar.

Outra coisa, o livro foi escrito nos mostrando o ponto de vista tanto de Stella quanto de Will, e gente, sério, é muito sensacional poder descobrir o que ambos pensavam em várias situações vividas, coisa que no filme a gente vai acabar perdendo pois não há tempo pra tamanha descrição.

Pra mim o fato de eu ter lido o livro antes de filme, neste caso em específico, só irá ajudar ainda mais a gostar do que verei na telona, já que eu via as cenas na minha frente enquanto lia.

Shut up because this story is sensational! Guys, seriously, I really wanted to read the book from the moment I discovered the movie script was turned into a romance too.

As clever as I am, I bought the English version for kindle (thank God for this gadget!) And I read it in one day! Yes, the story got me so bad that I sat down reading and only stopped when I finished (lie, I stopped for dinner in the middle of the reading hehehe).

We’ll get to know the story of Stella and Will, two young people living with Cystic Fibrosis, a condition that condemns a person to a much shorter life than a normal person. During the events we will discover a lot about the disease itself, care etc that people who have this disease need thanks to the explanations of Stella. In fact, she has a YouTube channel where she shows her treatment routine for years.

Stella meets Will when she goes to the hospital she has attended since childhood to treat a sore throat. Will is there trying an alternative treatment for a bacterium that he contracted and which prevents him from remaining in line for a lung transplant.

At first Stella does not like him at all, but since they are both trapped in a hospital with little to do, Will ends up getting this false impression of her and Stella ends up offering to help him make his treatment right, since she realizes that he neglects it all the time.

She shares everything that happens to Poe, her childhood friend, who also has cystic fibrosis and is also in the hospital treating bronchitis. People,  their friendship is so sweet, and it’s obvious that Poe realises  how much Stella is in love just because of her attitude to Will, who, unlike everyone could believe, just follows everything Stella asks because he’s in love too.

The story contains a great mystery I can say, that will be discovered by Will, and that relates to the great reason for Stella wanting to stay alive no matter what it costs.

Another thing, the book was written showing the point of view of both Stella and Will, and people, seriously, it is very sensational to be able to find out what they both thought about various situations, something that in the movie we will end up losing because it’s impossible to have a lot of description.

For me, the fact that I read the book before the movie, in this specific case, will only help even more to enjoy what I will see on the big screen, since I saw the scenes in front of me as I read.
