2) As 5 linguagens do amor – Gary Chapman

5) Jane Eyre – Charlotte Bronte

Guys, the top 5 is never in my order of preference. I’m simply not able to rank them. These were the books I highlighted on my  book list throughout the year.

1) Purpose – Sri Prem Baba

A book to be read and digested slowly. From that series of books that everyone should read and that changes our lives, this was one of the best I read in 2018 for self-knowledge. The second best is listed below.

2) The 5 Love Languages – Gary Chapman

Gary Chapman teaches you to perceive love like a language and then learn your partner’s so that together you can fill each other’s lives with love in the right way. Believe it or not, these explanations are for life. I remembered and recognized my whole family in these languages. It’s really worth it.

3) It Ends With Us – Colleen Hoover

In my opinion, the Colleen masterpiece. Of all the ones I’ve read from her, and I’ve read all her books except the last one that came out in December 2018 (Verity), this was her best-constructed book for me, since it shows domestic violence in a way I’ve never seen before. You really are able to understand the head of the person who goes through this type of situation.

I recommend the reading to everyone, because besides being a subject that needs to be always debated, I myself have been able to create an empathy that I could not have before for people who face this type of situation. After all, it is very easy to stay away shouting why the person doesn’t go to the police.

4) The Score – Elle Kennedy

This book, in fact this whole series, was a great surprise of 2018. I gave absolutely nothing to the series after having read the first volume, but when I read the 2nd, The Mistake, the business started to get better and then when I got the 3rd, which is this one, I definitely saw that I would have to read much more from Elle. What a cool book! What a good novel, what an engaging story, what deep and interesting characters!

Read the whole series, but my highlight for sure is for The Mistake and The Score.

5) Jane Eyre – Charlotte Bronte

What a book my friends! One of the books of my life! Seriously, everyone should read this masterpiece of the Victorian period. Jane Eyre is brilliant because even centuries later she can still touch on current issues. Jane is an example to be followed by all the women in this world. I loved the reading and my special treat was to have read it in a bilingual edition from  Landmark which is the coolest thing ever.

Bonus) Mr. Romance – Leisa Rayven

I could not leave these last two books out of the best since they are among the coolest and / or most surprising books I read in 2018.

Mr. Romance was that book, like the entire series of  The Score, I did not give anything to the story. I thought I would find a normal romantic story like the ones I always read, but I ended up being too surprised by it. The characters are very well developed and you can’t help falling in love for Max Riley.

The story pleased me a lot, and I’m crazy to read the other book in the series that tells the story of Tate’s sister, the main character of Mr Romance. Project for 2019.

You – Caroline Kepnes

Guys, this story is sensational in the sense that you can connect with Joe, the stalker who chronicles his unhealthy passion for Beck, an aspiring writer. It frightens you like in many moments you get caught trying to justify his actions. I found the story full of twists and extremely interesting. It is well worth reading if you are a fan of stories that will surprise you.

I’m currently watching the series on Netflix at the moment and seriously, I also recommend it because the adaptation is very good!
