Ele – Elle Kennedy & Sarina Bowen (Him)

Mais um da Elle Kennedy pra lista, e mais um que eu adorei ter lido.

Iremos conhecer a história de Wes e Jamie. Eles são melhores amigos desde os 13/14 anos, quando se conhecem num acampamento de verão onde jogam rockey juntos.

Wes desde essa época já se descobre gay, e com o passar dos anos ele entende que na verdade é apaixonado pelo amigo, mas esse amor é super platônico pois Jamie sempre foi super hétero.

Quando ambos tem 17 anos eles fazem uma aposta que vai acabar afastando um do outro pelos próximos 3/4 anos. E eles irão se reencontrar no último ano da faculdade pois os times de hockey das faculdades deles estão jogando na mesma cidade.

Depois do reencontro e aparente volta de contato, Wes decide passar seu último verão no acampamento que eles sempre se encontravam nas férias , e que Jamie sempre volta como instrutor, como instrutor também. E vai ser nesse último acampamento que Jamie irá descobrir que ele não é tão hétero como ele pensava ser, e que as coisas entre ele e Wes irão esquentar.

Eu achei as cenas hot do livro bem diferentes das cenas tradicionais da Elle, e acredito que a gente tenha dedo da Sarina nelas, mas como nunca li nada só da Sarina também não tenho como afirmar isso com certeza agora.

Mas de uma forma geral eu gostei. Conhecimento de mundo gente, eu como mera hétero sem experiência adorei saber mais da vida homossexual e bissexual sabe. É legal entender as diferentes formas de se demonstrar o afeto e o desejo. Há muito preconceito por parte nossa e leituras assim ao meu ver nos fazem entender como o que importa no fim de tudo é o amor mesmo, seja ele de que forma for.

Agora é aguentar a ansiedade para ler a sequência Nós. A tradução sai agora em maio aqui no Brasil e a capa é muito linda assim como a primeira. Já li muito comentário só falando bem do segundo volume, e inclusive que ele é melhor que o primeiro pois desenvolve muito mais o psicológico dos personagens e tudo que rola depois que eles se formam.

We’ll get to know the story of Wes and Jamie. They are best friends since the age of 13/14 when they meet at a summer camp where they play rockey together.

Wes, at that time, already discovers gay, and over the years he understands that he is really in love with his friend, but this love is super platonic because Jamie has always liked girls.

When both are 17 years old they make a bet that will end up pushing them away from each other for the next 3/4 years. And they will meet again in the senior year of college because their college hockey teams are playing in the same city.

After the reunion and apparent return of contact, Wes decides to spend his last summer in the camp they were always on vacation as an instructor, since Jamie always returns as an instructor there too. And it’s going to be in that last camp that Jamie will find out he’s not as straight as he thought he was, and that things between him and Wes will warm up.

I found the hot scenes in the book very different from Elle’s traditional scenes, and I believe we have Sarina’s finger on them, but since I’ve never read anything about Sarina, I can not confirm it for sure now.

Overall I liked it. Knowledge of world people, I, a simple heterossexual without experience, loved to know more of homosexual and bisexual life. It is cool to understand the different ways of showing affection and desire. There is a lot of prejudice from our part, so in my view these readings make us understand how what matters in the end is love itself, whatever it is.

Now we have to hold the anxiety to read the sequence US. The translation to Portuguese will be released in May here in Brazil and the cover is very beautiful as well as the first one. I’ve read a lot of comments just saying how good the second volume is, and even that it is better than the first because it develops much more psychological characters and everything that rolls after their graduation.
