Esse é aquele tipo de livro que te faz ficar pensando um tempão depois de você ter o terminado. Eu fiquei com os personagens, principalmente o Jimmy, por muitas semanas na cabeça.
Sério, que livro! É daquele tipo de história que te faz repensar suas atitudes. Que te faz analisar se você realmente está aproveitando e vivendo a vida como deveria.
Rachel faz parte de um grupo de 5 amigos que estão em um restaurante celebrando a formatura e a partida para a faculdade quando um carro desgovernado entra no restaurante e causa um grave acidente. As pessoas tentam correr segundos antes do carro atravessar a parede de vidro, mas Rachel fica presa. Jimmy, seu melhor amigo, volta para salvá-la e acaba morrendo na tentativa. Rachel porém consegue sobreviver mesmo com alguma complicações.
5 anos depois ela está de volta a cidade para o casamento de sua melhor amiga, mas a sombra do acidente ainda a persegue. Ela não fez a faculdade que queria,trabalha num emprego sem nenhum atrativo, e possui uma cicatriz enorme no rosto e além de muitas cicatrizes emocionais, Rachel nunca conseguiu superar a morte de Jimmy.
Após o jantar de ensaio do casamento Rachel decide visitar o túmulo do amigo, e se sente muito mal no lugar. Quando acorda está no hospital, mas a sua realidade é completamente diferente de antes. Ela possui um noivo pois nunca largou do antigo namorado, ela trabalha no emprego de seus sonhos pois estudou o que queria na faculdade, e o principal, Jimmy está vivo.
A pergunta agora é, qual realidade é a verdadeira? Rachel irá tentar a qualquer custo responder essa pergunta, e Jimmy irá ajudá-la nessa missão.
This is that kind of story that keeps you thinking a long time after you finish it. I had the characters inside my head, specially Jimmy, for weeks.
5 years later she is back in town for her best friend’s wedding, but the shadow of the accident still haunts her. She did not go to college as she previously wanted, she works in a job without any attraction, and she has a huge scar on her face besides many emotional scars, and Rachel never managed to overcome Jimmy’s death.
After the wedding rehearsal dinner Rachel decides to visit her friend’s grave, and feels sick in the place. When she wakes up she’s at the hospital, but her reality is completely different from before. She has a boyfriend because she never left her old boyfriend, she works on the job of her dreams because she went to college, and the main one, Jimmy is alive.
The question now is, which reality is the real one? Rachel will try to answer that question at any cost, and Jimmy will help her to discover it.
