This book is the first in a spin-off series originated from Him/Us books that tell the story of Wes and Jamie. And in this one  we’ll learn more about Blake Riley, one of Wes’s colleagues from Toronto team, and about Jess Canning, one of Jamie’s sisters.

In Us, we had some scenes that made us believe that something was going on between Jess and Blake, and finally, we confirm it, because something really went on.

But consumed by guilt and prejudice Jess is in denial until the present moment of her brother’s marriage, which she helped to organize because she tried to be a ceremonialist. Blake for being Wes’s bestman kept in touch with her and tries to use the marriage to get closer again, but Jess will refute him because of all the guilt and prejudice she still carries after the episode in which the two were together, and she ends up “running away” from him one more time.

But fate will make a nice contribution to these two because Jess is determined to be a nurse, and  she gets a scholarship at a college in Toronto, where the Nursing course is much more affordable than in the US, therefore she needs to move to Toronto . Once in the same town the two will meet and interact a lot since Blake is Wes and Jamie’s neighbor.

And so my friends, we’ll be seeing one of the best dating interactions I’ve read lately, since as much as we’re following many events beyond the Jess-Blake relationship, the book manages to center the whole story between these two, and how Jess finds out Blake was not the goofy, headless athlete she thought. And we, of course, start to fall in love with him with her. What a man, my God!

I can only compare the series to my feeling when I read the Off-Campus series. The Deal was cool, The Mistake was very cool, The Score was sensational. Same thing here if we talk about Him, Us and now Good Boy.

I’m sure I’ll read Stay, which is the next spin-off book, and I’m going to keep dreaming about Elle and Sarina to publish more about these boys from the Toronto team. I can surely say that I’m enjoying hockey more and more and Elle is 100% responsible for this.

Note: The spin-off series was called W.A.G.s because the wives / girlfriends of the Toronto players call themselves like this: (W) ives (a) nd (G) irlfriend (s) of the hockey players.
