O Alquimista – Paulo Coelho (The Alchemist)
I always wanted to read this book by Paulo Coelho but I had always left it for later, but earlier this year, inspired by the advice of Denise, my wonderful thetahealer, I decided to finally read it.
The result was that I couldn’t have read it at a better time. That kind of book that is perfect to read when you’re looking for motivation.
The Alchemist more than a fiction story, in my opinion can be summed up in a self-help showed as a fiction story. And why do I say that?
I say that because everything in this story can be used as an analogy for our own life.
We have a pastor who has a very “crazy” dream of going to the pyramids in Egypt to find a treasure. It will take him a while to have the courage to go out and try to fulfill that dream, but at some point he will go after it.
The problem is that he will face many obstacles along the way, and the thought of giving up will go through his head at many times and for very different reasons. And guys, can you see how this can be used as an analogy for our entire life?
People who pass along the pastor’s journey to the pyramids can also be understood as the people we meet throughout our lives. Some help us and develop very healthy exchange relationships, others already show themselves as real obstacles.
And the pastor’s questions about whether it is worthwhile to continue? Seriously, if you’ve never had a moment like this in your life, it’s probably because you’re a teenager and you haven’t lived much yet. And so I already tell you, you will live it, my friend.
Now, why does this book call The Alchemist if the main character is a pastor !? hehehe well, the Alchemist is a person who will be essential in the search for the pastor to reach the pyramids and his treasure. Let’s say that he is the key to everything that the pastor seeks, and when the pastor finds out how to use that key, we have our “happy ending” to the story.
And yes, I will end the post in this way because I am inspired by the book’s analogies. But, leaving that a little aside, if you are looking for books that help you in self-knowledge and that have an additional attraction, perhaps The Alchemist is for you. Consider reading it because I’m sure it will be worth it.
