Wild For You – Kendall Ryan (Hot Jocks #6)

Que livro sensacional! Sério, a Kendall me fez ficar na dúvida se ele ultrapassaria meu preferido em determinado ponto da leitura, mas seguimos firmes e fortes com All The Way aí na primeiro posição. Agora, não me peçam por um segundo lugar, pois estou super em dúvida entre este, Trying To Score e Crossing The Line.

Mas voltando aqui ao livro 6, no início da história veremos o relacionamento abusivo que Ana está vivendo com Jason, um dos jogadores do time de Seattle que não é amigo dos meninos da nossa amada turminha.

Em uma festa do time, todos presenciam ele tratando Ana mal, e Grant, o capitão do time, se oferece para levá-la embora. Sem muita alternativa Ana aceita e Grant acaba deixando seu número de telefone com ela para caso ela precise numa emergência.

E pessoal, a emergência vai chegar mais rápido do que ele imaginava. Ana irá ligar pra ele no dia seguinte quando Jason irado e brigando com ela por algum motivo nada a ver joga um vidro em sua direção que acaba cortando seu pé. Sozinha e tentando ligar para a única amiga que tem em Seattle sem sucesso, Ana acabará recorrendo a Grant então, que irá até a sua casa resgatá-la.

Por motivos que não vou ficar detalhando Ana vai se esconder na casa de Grant com seu cachorrinho. Tudo que posso dizer é que quando Grant descobre que o ambiente vivido por ela era de violência doméstica, ele fica louco e no final acaba meio que se tornando o protetor dela. E é a coisa mais fofa ver os dois se conhecendo e Grant exercendo esse papel de protetor de Ana ao longo da história. A gente vai entender os motivos de Grant ser todo fechadão, pois ele vai confessando como foi sua vida para Ana, e por conseguinte ela também acaba se abrindo com ele.

Em determinado ponto do livro um acontecimento inesperado irá acontecer e Ana e Grant terão que lidar com isso de alguma forma.  Tudo que posso dizer é que depois desse acontecimento eu passei a amar mais e mais Grant a cada discurso que ele dava. Que homem!

Já adianto que vocês terão que ter uma paciência extra ali com a Ana do meio pro final, mas nada que faça você querer estrangular a personagem ou algo do gênero.

Ah, e ponto legal também do livro é você  continuar vendo o desenvolvimento dos outros casais formados nos outros livros. Nós temos Becca e Owen tendo seu primeiro filho, Teddy e Sara noivos, Elise e Justin também, e enfim, temos aquele sentimento de continuidade da vida conforme a história avança.

Só sei que estou doidinha doidinha pra ler a história de Jordie e Harper agora do último livro da série. Que venha junho logo!

What a sensational book! Seriously, Kendall made me wonder if this one would surpass my favorite at a certain point in the reading, but we remained firm and strong with All The Way in the first position. Now, don’t ask me for a second place, case I am in doubt between this one, Trying To Score and Crossing The Line.

But back to book 6, at the beginning of the story we will see the abusive relationship that Ana is living with Jason, one of the players from the Seattle team who is not a friend of our  beloved group.

At a team party, everyone witnesses him treating Ana badly, and Grant, the team captain, offers to take her away. Without much alternative Ana accepts and Grant ends up leaving his phone number with her in case she needs it in an emergency.

And folks, the emergency will arrive faster than he imagined. Ana will call him the next day when Jason is angry, and fighting with her for no reason, throws a glass in her direction that ends up cutting her foot. Alone and trying to call the only friend she has in Seattle unsuccessfully, Ana will eventually call Grant, who will come to her home to rescue her.

For reasons I won’t be detailing Ana will hide in Grant’s house with her puppy. All I can say is that when Grant finds out that her environment was one of domestic violence, he goes crazy and in the end ends up kind of becoming her protector. And it’s the sweetest thing to see the two of them getting to know each other and Grant playing Ana’s role as protector throughout the story. We will understand the reasons for Grant being all on his own, because he opens up  about how his life was for Ana, and therefore she also ends up opening up to him.

At some point in the book an unexpected event will happen and Ana and Grant will have to deal with it in some way. All I can say is that after that event I came to love Grant more and more with every speech he gave. What a man!

Let me be clear that you will have to have extra patience with Ana from the middle to the end, but nothing that makes you want to strangle the character or something like that.

Oh, and the cool thing about the book is that you continue to see the development of the other couples from previous books. We have Becca and Owen having their first child, Teddy and Sara engaged, Elise and Justin too, and finally, we have that feeling of continuity in life as the story progresses.

Last but not least, I just can say that I am crazy to read Jordie and Harper’s story from the last book in the series. May June come soon!
