Na ilha – Tracey Garvis Graves (On The Island)

Livro que lemos para o clube do livro on-line do Literalmentes e sério, a indicação da Valéria nunca foi tão certeira! Que livro maravilhoso! Carrego os personagens no meu coração desde que terminei a leitura, e aqui eles permanecerão por muito tempo.

Fiquei espantada ao ver que este foi o primeiro livro escrito pela Tracey, pois a qualidade do texto, da narrativa, da construção dos personagens e dos vários mini plots twists é inegavelmente  foda. Ela consegue entregar um livro onde tudo, absolutamente tudo é alto nível.

O livro nos mostrará um adolescente de quase 17 anos, TJ,  e sua professora de 30, Anna, ficando presos em uma ilha deserta na Indonésia após o hidro avião que os levaria até os pais de TJ cair quando o piloto que os levava tem um ataque do coração no meio do voo.

Anna e TJ a princípio terão esperança de serem resgatados, mas meses e anos passarão sem que nenhum avião ou barco passe pela ilha e eles meio que perderão essa esperança. Nós iremos acompanhar a vida dos dois nesses anos se passando, e como eles tentam sobreviver com a pouca variedade de comida e todas as dificuldades encontradas.

Tendo apenas um ao outro, eles acabarão por desenvolver uma ligação muito forte, que ao meu ver foi um dos principais fatores que os mantiveram vivos. Esse amor puro e verdadeiro que nasce entre os dois vai ser posto a prova várias vezes pois os perigos da ilha são bem reais.

Quem aí é ligado em história vai sacar uma conexão com um fato histórico neste livro já no começo. Eu confesso que desconfiei mas não achei que Tracey fosse usá-lo, mas sim, ela usou e sim foi tenso ler tudo. Meu coração ficou na mão enquanto eu lia.

Se você tá procurando aquele livro que vai te fazer pensar na vida, experienciar um romance maravilhoso e também ter alguns toques de suspense esse é o livro certo para você, meu amigo! Compre, alugue ou empreste, mas leia, porque vale muito a pena! 😉

 

We read this book for the Literalmentes online book club and seriously, Valéria’s suggestion has never been more accurate! What a wonderful book! I have carried the characters in my heart since I finished reading, and here they will remain for a long time.

I was amazed to see that this was the first book written by Tracey, because the quality of the text, the narrative, the construction of the characters and the several mini plots twists are undeniably awesome. She manages to deliver a book where everything, absolutely everything is top.

The book will bring us  an almost 17-year-old teenager, TJ, and his 30-year-old teacher, Anna, being on a desert island in Indonesia after the hydro plane that would take them to TJ’s parents crashed when the pilot had a heart attack in mid-flight.

Anna and TJ at first will hope to be rescued, but months and years will pass without any planes or boats passing through the island and they will kind of lose that hope. We will follow their lives over the years, and how they try to survive with the little variety of food and all the difficulties they encounter.

Having only one another, they will eventually develop a very strong bond, which in my point of view was one of the main factors that kept them alive. This pure and true love that is born between the two will be put to the test several times because of the very real dangers of the island.

Whoever likes to study history might find a connection with a historical fact in this book. I confess I was suspicious but I didn’t think Tracey was going to use it, but yes, she did and it was tense to read everything. My heart was in my hand while I read.

If you are looking for a book that will make you think about life, experience a wonderful romance, and also have some touches of suspense this is the right book for you, my friend! Buy or borrow, but read it, because it’s so worth it!
