Heart Bones – Colleen Hoover

Como não é de se espantar, Colleen conseguiu arrasar de novo com uma fórmula já conhecida pra gente em alguns livros dela. Heart Bones me lembrou muito a pegada de Métrica ou Hopeless pelo fato dos personagens principais serem adolescentes, mas a história sem si não tem nenhuma ligação.

Neste livro conheceremos Beyah, uma menina que tem uma vida bem ruim aparentemente. Ela trabalha num McDonalds para conseguir dinheiro para comer e mora com a mãe, que é viciada em drogas, em um trailer num bairro super ruim.  Tudo que Beyah ganha do pai é torrado pelo vício da mãe, e ela nutre uma raiva muito grande pelo “desprezo” do pai em relação a sua vida. Eles costumavam se ver uma vez ao ano quando ela estava de férias, e a alguns anos ela foge deste encontro porque achar que o pai nunca esteve realmente afim de passar tempo com ela.

Mas por conta de um incidente muito infeliz com a mãe, Beyah vai ter que entrar em contato com o pai e ir passar os meses de férias antes de começar a faculdade com ele.

E quando seu pai a busca no aeroporto ela descobre que eles irão passar esse tempo na casa de veraneio da nova esposa dele, a qual Beyah ainda não conhece por estar fugindo de encontros com o pai a anos.

Chegando na casa, ela conhece tanto Alana, esposa de seu pai, como Sarah sua filha, e por mais que Beyah tente ela não consegue odiá-las pois ambas são muito gente boa.

Ela irá conhecer também Samson, um garoto extremamente  fechado filho de uma família rica que possui várias casas de veraneio na mesma praia e se verá cada vez mais envolvida com ele ao longo da história.

O curioso é que nenhum dos dois estava procurando por um relacionamento, mas o magnetismo presente entre ambos é impossível de ser ignorado, mesmo eles realmente querendo isso.

A história além de girar em torno desse envolvimento entre Beyah e Samson também irá contemplar toda a problemática pai-filha- família, e devo dizer que para mim esta foi um dos destaques deste livro. Eu desde o início achei que havia mais ali nas declarações de Beyah a respeito do pai, e realmente há.

Um livro mega gostoso de se ler, e que como todos da Colleen devorei em 2 dias. Super recomendado e devo advertir que ele está disponível no kindle unlimited, então caso você assine corre lá pegar!

As it is not surprising, Colleen managed to nail again with a formula already known by us in some of her books. Heart Bones reminded me a lot of the Slammed and Hopeless because the main characters are teenagers – but there’s no other connection.

In this book we will meet Beyah, a girl who apparently has a very bad life. She works at a McDonalds to get money to eat and lives with her mother, who is drug addicted, in a trailer in a super bad neighborhood. Everything Beyah gets from her father is toasted by her mother’s addiction, and she is very angry at her father’s “ignorance” for her life. They used to see each other once a year when she was on vacation, and a few years ago she runs away from this date because she believes her father was never really in the mood to spend time with her.

But because of a very unfortunate incident with her mother, Beyah will have to contact her father and stay with him during summer vacation before starting college.

And when her father picks her up at the airport, she discovers that they will be spending that time at his new wife’s summer home, which Beyah has not yet met because she has been running away her father for years.

Arriving at the house, she gets to know both Alana, her father’s wife, and Sarah, her daughter, and no matter how hard Beyah tries she cannot hate them because they are both very good people.

She will also meet Samson, an extremely closed boy from a wealthy family who owns several summer houses on the same beach and will find herself increasingly involved with him throughout the story.

The curious thing is that neither of them was looking for a relationship, but the magnetism present between them is impossible to ignore, even if they really want it.
The story, besides revolving around this involvement between Beyah and Samson, will also contemplate the whole problematic father-daughter-family, and I must say that for me this was one of the highlights of this book. I thought from the beginning that there was more there in Beyah’s statements about her father, and there really was.

A very nice book to read, and that like most of Colleen’s books I devoured in 2 days. Super recommended and I must warn you that it is available on kindle unlimited, so if you are a subscriber, go there and get it!
