Os livros da série prometem viu. Demorei para começar mas definitivamente 2021 será o ano que lerei a série dos Bridgerton.

O 3o livro da série vem com uma clara releitura do conto da Cinderela.

Iremos conhecer Sophie, uma filha bastarda de um duque que se casa novamente com um viúva que já tinha 2 filhas. Quando ele morre, mesmo tendo deixado dote e garantido a educação de Sophie até sua maioridade, a madrasta má a engana e a faz de empregada da casa para ela e as duas filhas.

Sophie consegue então um dia com ajuda da governanta ir ao baile de máscara dos Bridgertons, e é onde irá conhecer Benedict. O efeito vai ser profundo entre os dois, e ela tendo que fugir do baile a meia noite acaba esquecendo a luva que era de sua avó lá.

Benedict sem sucesso tenta procurá-la e depois de 3 anos acaba meio que desistindo da busca, porém não consegue se casar com mais ninguém já que sei coração foi preenchido pela moça misteriosa.

Ele não irá ter o coração mexido por ninguém até que um dia salva um empregada de quase ser violentada por outros homens numa festa que ele estava indo embora. E adivinhem quem é a moça? Shofie, claro. Ele não vai conhecer ela de cara, e ela não vai contar quem é mas as coiaas entre ele irá escalar cada vez mais deste momento para frente.

Daí em diante meus amigos vocês podem imaginar como a história termina baseados na história original né!?

Devo dizer que adorei a participação mais ativa da Lady Bridgerton no final da história e fiquei empolgada para ler o próximo livro mesmo não tendo gostado tanto deste terceiro. Ele é legal, porém como Cinderala não é meu conto preferido acabei não me apegando tanto a história.

Por enquanto meu ranking está assim 1o lugar O visconde que me amava, 2o O duque e eu e 3o Um perfeito Cavalheiro.

The books in this series promise a lot. It took me a long time to start but definitely 2021 will be the year that I will read the Bridgerton series.

The third book in the series comes with a clear reinterpretation of the Cinderella tale.

We will meet Sophie, a bastard daughter of a duke who remarries a widow who already had 2 daughters. When he dies, even though he left Sophie a dowry and guaranteed Sophie’s education until her adulthood, the evil stepmother deceives her and makes her a housekeeper for her and her two daughters.

Sophie then manages one day with the help of the housekeeper to go to the Bridgertons’ masquerade ball, and that’s where she will meet Benedict. The effect will be profound between the two, and she having to escape the dance at midnight ends up forgetting the glove that belonged to her grandmother there.

Benedict unsuccessfully tries to look for her and after 3 years he ends up sort of giving up on the search, but he can’t marry anyone else since he knows his heart was filled by the mysterious girl.

He will not have his heart moved by anyone until one day he saves a maid from almost being raped by other men at a party that he was leaving. And guess who the girl is? Sophie, of course. He will not know her right away, and she will not tell who she is but the things between them will escalate more and more from this moment on.

After it, my friends, you can imagine how the story ends based on the original story, right !?

I must say that I loved Lady Bridgerton’s most active participation at the end of the story and I am excited to read the next book even though I didn’t like this third one that much. It is cool, but as Cinderela is not my favorite tale I ended up not too attached to this one.

For now my ranking is like this 1st place The viscount who loved me, 2nd The duke and I and 3rd An Offer From a Gentleman.
