The Rival - Kendall Ryan #2 Looking to Score series

After reading the first book of the series and loving it I was looking forward to this second one, especially since it was Eden’s ex (The Rebel). We finished the book with Alex being seen as a problem and I was looking forward to seeing how Kendall would change that, and she nailed it,people!
At the beginning of the story, Alex and Aspen (who is Eden’s secretary) end up getting closer due to their heartbroken breakups while chatting at a party.
Aspen ends up accepting an offer from Alex and Saint to take care of Saint’s cabin in Canada for the summer. And it will be during this period that the two, she and Alex, will spend together that things between them will change.
With Aspen getting to know Alex better (and so do we) she begins to question everything Eden has told her about him. The man who broke Eden’s heart and got laid with half of the town last season can’t be the same person she’s been knowing at the cabin. The man in the cabin cooks for her, talk about his feelings, he’s kind, considerate, and fantastic in other things too…
Tired of questioning herself Aspen will surrender to the moment and live together with Alex the best summer of her life.
The hard part will be getting back to reality after that.
I believe this story brings us, more than the opening of Aspen’s heart to true love, Alex’s self-discovery and his redemption, which are only possible due to his interaction with Aspen during this fatidic summer.
That kind of book that needs to be read and enjoyed on every page. Definitely better than the first one, it consolidated my love for this new series, the story didn’t disappoint from beginning to end. Read and have fun. Book to warm your little heart.
