Confesso que estava ansiosa por ler a história de Saint porque ele, sendo o alívio cômico dos primeiros livros, me deixou curiosa sobre como acabaria por se envolver com a irmã do capitão da equipe, que não é tão amigo dele, e que está grávida de outro homem.

Havia demasiadas probabilidades de dar ruim. Mas acreditem em mim pessoal, Kendall fez dar bom e digo mais, fez dar muito bom.

Neste livro, como o seu melhor Alex, Saint teve a sua atenção chamada pela equipe para se manter afastado de escândalos e manchetes de tablóides. E Walker, o capitão da equipe, é convidado pelo treinador a ficar de olho nele para ter a certeza de que ele se mantenha direito.

É quando Kinley se muda para Chicago para estar perto do seu irmão Walker, porque está grávida e o pai da criança está completamente fora de cena. Walker compra um apartamento num condomínio perto do local onde vive para ela, mas quando ela se muda, ele está fora de férias.

É quando Saint conhece Kinley tentando levar algumas coisas para o novo apartamento – sim, Saint também vive neste mesmo condomínio – e como não tem nada “melhor” para fazer, oferece-se para a ajudar.

Kinley acaba se rendendo e aceita a ajuda de Saint, e o que começa com algumas caixas carregadas acaba por evoluir para as compras, tomar sorvete juntos, jantar juntos, e também ir a uma feira de rua de orgânicos durante as próximas semanas.

Saint começa a perceber que gosta mais de Kinley do que imaginava ser possível. Melhor ainda, ele sente-se atraído por ela, não importando o fato de ela estar grávida. Kinley o entende e ele a entende, e isso nunca tinha acontecido antes com nenhuma mulher que conheceu.

É então que Walker volta de suas férias e…

Bem, deixem-me apenas dizer que ele não vai aprovar esta “amizade em evolução”.

Saint e Kinley têm de refletir muito sobre o que está a acontecer entre eles e se vale a pena lutar ou não, se é amor ou não. E tudo o que posso dizer é que adorei a forma como eles resolvem tudo.

Kendall tem este poder de não tornar uma história mais complicada do que deveria ser, e é exatamente isso que acontece aqui. É a medida certa do drama que torna a história perfeita.

Well well well, Kendal got it again, because this book closes the series with a big golden key.

I confess that I was anxious to read Saint’s story because he being the comic relief on the first books made me curious about how he would end up getting involved with the team’s captain sister, who is not that good friend of his, and that is pregnant of another men.

There were too many odds to make this right. But believe me folks, Kendall does it and does it super right.

On this book, like his bestie Alex, Saint had his attention called by the team to keep away from scandals and tabloid headlines. And Walker, the captain of the team, is asked by the coach to keep an eye on him to make sure he keeps straight.

That’s when Kinley moves to Chicago to be close to her brother Walker because she is pregnant and the father of the child is completely out of the picture. Walker buys an apartment to her in a condo close to the place he lives, but when she moves he’s away on a short vacation.

That’s when Saint meets Kinley trying to carry some stuff to the new apartment – yep, Saint also lives in this same condo –  and since he has nothing “better” to do he offers to help her.

Kinley surrenders and accepts the help, and what starts with some boxes carrying ends up evolving to shopping, having ice cream together, having dinner together,  and also attending an organic street market during the next weeks.

Saint starts to realize he likes Kinley more than he imagined to be possible. Better, he’s attracted to her despite the fact that she is really pregnant. Kinley gets him and he gets her, and that never happened before with any woman he met.

That’s when Walker comes back from his vacation and…

Well, let me just say he is not going to approve this “evolving friendship”.

Saint and Kinley with both have to reflect a lot  about what is happening between them if it is worth fighting or not, if it’s love or not. And all I can say is that I loved the way they realize everything.

Kendall has this power to not make a story more complicated than it should be, and that’s exactly what happens here. Just the right measure of drama which makes the story perfect.

You will most certainly have a great time reading it. Read this and read the entire series if you haven’t already cause they are all fantastic. ( The rebel, The Rival, The Rookie)
