Top 5 melhores livros lidos de 2017 – Best books read in 2017

melhores 2017

2) O segredo do meu marido – Liane Moriarty

Acabamos descobrindo então outra autora mind blowing, a qual estamos desde então dispostas a ler a bibliografia completa.

Quem sabe 2018 é o ano perfeito pra isso.

5)  Simon vs a agenda homo sapiens – Becky Albertalli

As meninas talvez escolhessem outros.

best of 2017

The ranking is not in order of most to least favorite  simply because I could not tell which of the 5 is the best of them all.

1) November 9 – Colleen Hoover

This book almost managed to take the place of my Colleen’s favorite, which is Ugly Love Maybe it’s the best one from Colleen’s, but since I’ve read Ugly Love first I still can not let go of the idea of this one being the favorite. Anyway, if I had to recommend Colleen’s first reading to someone today I think I’d say the person to start with November 9.

2) The Husband’s Secret – Liane Moriarty

I bought the physical copy for 9.90 on one of the Amazon sales, and I persuaded the book club girls to do the same. We then discovered another mind blowing author, who we have been willing to read the full bibliography. Since I am reading with the club we only read the titles that were released in Portuguese, which are What Alice forgot and Big Little Lies. Until Guilt Separates us, which will be next in the Liane list.

PS. The title of the book isn’t any near to what the book is really about, which is simply sensational. You’ll never imagine how sensational it is just by reading the cover. The title in Portuguese refers only to one of the many questions presented in this mysterious story, which ends up being judged as a story for women when in fact it is really a great novel of mystery and criminal possibilities.

3) Fever Code – James Dashner

If I had to sort the books read by the most amazing final I would be in the doubt between this one and Liane’s Husband’s secret. But this one has one more factor to be the most amazing as it manages to make your face going down with the entire Maze Runner trilogy after reading its last page. Seriously, you read and think  “Fuck I need to read the trilogy all over again knowing this!”

4) To Kill a Mockingbird– Harper Lee

Anyone who said classics are boring must not have read this book. A book that despite being written decades ago remains simple and relevant. I think the factor of having been narrated in the eyes of a child weighs heavily on all the mastery present in the events.

I think it was one of the stories that touched my heart the most this year and my desire to read more cool classics came up. In fact, I have a list of classics that I want to read and I need to pick it up again. Maybe 2018 is the perfect year for that.

5) Simon vs The Home Sapiens Agenda – Becky Albertalli

The most lovely book of the year, and the one I can’t wait to see in the movies. It’s simply impossible not to fall in love with Simon and Blue. I really enjoyed this book from Becky, and I already bought Upside of Unrequited to read too.

Extra: Bird Box – Josh Malerman

I had to add an extra since it is very difficult to choose only 5 out of  almost 50. And this story was a big surprise also during the year. It was a case like Liane’s 1st book, and in the end the offer was one of the coolest books we read at the club this year, at least in my opinion. The girls might choose others.

Just one thing, you read the story with your heart in your hand from beginning to end. I’m curious to know what Netflix adaptation will look like.
