HILI – Lu Evans

Estou apaixonada por esta história. Confesso que a premissa me despertou muita curiosidade pois eu queria saber como a Lu conseguiu enfiar uma história romântica dentro do gênero de ficção científica. E olha, ela conseguiu com maestria.

Nós iremos conhecer Madison, uma ex-modelo que após se separar do marido e sair de casa é abduzida por uma nave no meio da sua primeira noite sozinha. Ela então descobre que seu raptor super charmoso e mais bonito que muitos galãs da Terra se chama Etana, e ao longo do livro Etana irá contar porque a raptou de lá. Segundo ele, o planeta onde vive corre risco de extinção pois todas as mulheres foram expostas a algum tipo de fator que fizeram-nas desaparecer. Aí você começa a entender qual seria o papel de Madison para ele, certo!?

A viagem segue e ao longo dela quanto mais Madison conhece Etana e toda a sua história, mais ela se sente atraída por ele, o que a irá deixar dividida entre a vontade de voltar para casa e o sentimento que foi crescendo dentro dela. Mas há muitos segredos a serem descobertos e alguns deles poderão deixá-la numa posição bem arriscada.

Aquele tipo de história que quando você chega no meio não consegue mais parar até terminar. Há uma grande reviravolta e um final surpreendente.

A única reclamação que tenho é que queria mais hehehe. O livro é bem curtinho – você lê em no máximo 3h, no meu ritmo pelo menos – e ele te deixa com aquele gosto de já acabou? Preciso saber mais! Mas aí me pergunto, será que isso é ruim mesmo? Bem, minha mente pidona queria saber muito mais sobre a vida da Madison e também sobre o Etana. Aliás, devo dizer que o Etana é com certeza meu personagem preferido.

Embora a Lu seja brasileira, o livro foi escrito em inglês e ainda não há uma versão português dele sendo vendida. (Pois é, uma pena!!!) Mas fica a dica para quem quiser uma leitura para melhorar o inglês como segunda língua. Se vocês lerem no kindle há até uma opção de dicionário onde você consegue ter dicas de traduções já inseridas no próprio texto.

I’m in love with this story. I confess that the plot made me very curious because I wanted to know how Lu managed to put a romantic story into the genre of science fiction. And you know, she did it with mastery.

We will meet Madison, an ex-model who left home after separating from her husband that in her first night alone is abducted by a spaceship. She then discovers that her super charming and handsome raptor is called Etana, and throughout the book Etana will tell her why she was abducted. According to him, the planet where he lives is at risk of extinction because all women were exposed to some kind of factor that made them disappear. Then you begin to understand what Madison’s role would be, right !?

The journey follows and the more Madison knows about Etana and all his story, the more she is attracted to him, which will leave her torn between the will to return home and the feeling that has been growing inside her. But there are many secrets to be discovered and some of them might put her in a very risky position.
This is that kind of story that when you get in the middle you can not stop reading until it’s over. There is a great turnaround and an amazing ending.

The only complaint I have is that I wanted more hehehe. The book is very short – you read in at most 3 hours, in my rhythm at least – and it leaves you with that taste is it already over? I need to know more! But then I wonder, is this really bad? Well, my begging mind wanted to know a lot more about Madison’s life and also about Etana. By the way, I must say that Etana is certainly my favorite character.

Although Lu is Brazilian, the book was written in English and there isn’t a Portuguese version of it being sold, not yet. (Well, a pity !!!) But this is a tip for anyone who wants to improve English as a second language. If you read in kindle there is even a dictionary option where you can have translations already inserted in the text itself.
