Ashes to Ashes – Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian

OBS: Este é o 3o livro de uma série. Se você não quiser ler algum spoiler dos livros Olho por Olho e Dente por Dente leia primeiros estes dois volumes para depois vir aqui ler este post.

Sabe aquela história que você começa a ler sem grandes expectativas, não dando assim lá muita importância e que no fim te pega duma maneira que você não consegue largar enquanto não chega no fim? Sim, foi assim com essa trilogia. A ponto de eu ter que comprar esse último livro no kindle em inglês mesmo para poder saber o que ia acontecer no final da história já que a Novo Conceito tá cagando e andando para meus e-mails e mensagens no facebook perguntando se algum dia eles ainda lançarão essa tradução.
Nessa última parte da história, após a grande revelação que temos a respeito de Mary no final do 2o livro, a história toma um rumo completamente inesperado. Enquanto Lilia e Kat estão mais preparadas para perdoar e seguir em frente, Mary não deixará que isso aconteça. Lembrando que as 3 fizeram um pacto de vingança lá no 1o livro, Mary usa desse subterfúgio pra justificar suas ações.
É bem legal ver o desenvolvimento de alguns personagens. Lilia, Kat e Reeve me surpreenderam muito. Alex foi o personagem que pra mim mais prometeu e que no final não correspondeu a tudo que esperei, mas enfim, achei plausível o seu final mesmo não tendo correspondido a nada que imaginei.
Se você espera uma história com final feliz, você se decepcionará com o final desta trilogia, mas se você está aberta a um final que faça você realmente refletir sobre vingança, sobre a fase adolescente, sobre amizadee seu real significado, então você gostará bastante do final.

Eu achei que mais alguém morreria no final deste 3o livro, especialmente depois do final chocante do 2o com a morte da Renie.
Mas confesso que ninguém mais ter morrido foi mais surpreendente. Todo o relacionamento de Lilia e Reeve, o amor incondicional e puro, e depois eles não ficando juntos. Achei algo muito real. Acontece. É a vida. Assim como ela acabar ficando com o cara que sempre foi o amigo apaixonado, sempre perto. Só fiquei meio chateada pois eu torcia para Kat ficar com Alex, mas enfim, não achei que os dois não ficando juntos tenha estragado algo pra mim.
Toda a temática de ódio e amor entre Kat, Lillia e Rennie, e as duas sofrendo a sua perda foi muito interessante, assim como descobrir que Reeve sempre se culpou pelo que aconteceu com Mary embora ninguém fizesse a menor ideia de nenhuma dessas coisas.
Muitas vezes pré julgamentos são completamente errados. Esses casos servem para mostrar quantos malefícios um pré conceito pode causar.

You know that kind of story you start to read without great expectations, not giving so much importance and that in the end it gets you on a way that you cannot stop reading until you get to the end? Yes, that’s how it was with this trilogy. To the point I have to buy the last book on kindle in English version to be able to know what was going to happen at the end of the story since Novo Conceito is shitting and walking to my emails and messages on facebook asking if someday they still will launch the translation.
In this last part of the story, after the great revelation we had about Mary at the end of the second book, the story takes a completely unexpected turn. While Lilia and Kat are more ready to forgive and move on, Mary will not let that happen. Recalling that the three made a pact revenge in the first book, Mary uses this subterfuge to justify her actions.
It’s pretty cool to see the development of some characters. Lilia, Kat and Reeve surprised me. Alex was the character for me that promised a lot more and that in the end wasn’t all I expected, anyway I thought his end plausible despite not corresponding to anything I imagined.
If you expect a story with a happy ending, you will be disappointed with the end of the trilogy, but if you are open to an ending that makes you really think about revenge, about the teenage time, about friendship and its real meaning, then you’ll like it enough.

I thought someone else would die at the end of the third book, especially after the shocking end of the second book with Renie’s death.
But I confess that none dying was more surprising. The whole relationship of Lilia and Reeve, unconditional and pure love, and then they not getting together. I thought it all very real. It happens. It’s life. Just as she ending up with the guy who was always the friend in love, always close. I just got a little upset because I hoped that Kat would be with Alex in the end, but anyway, I did not think the two not getting together has spoiled something for me.
The whole theme of hate and love between Kat, Lillia and Rennie, and both Kat and Lilia suffering their loss was very interesting, as well as finding out that Reeve always blamed himself for what happened to Mary although no one made any idea of those things.
Often pre judgments are completely wrong. These cases serve to show how much harm prejudice might cause.
