Procura-se um Marido – Carina Rissi

Foi o primeiro livro que li da Carina, e o primeiro nacional lido no clube do livro.

Gostei muito da experiência e o que o livro mais me proporcionou foram muitas risadas. Acho que Carina se provou uma ótima escritora de comédia romântica com essa história.. Você sabe desde o começo como a história irá terminar, no entanto fica presa a suficiente para não largar o livro até o final.

A história gira em torno de Alícia, que é a única herdeira do império contruído pelo avô, que ao morrer deixa um testamento estabelecendo que ela só poderá desfrutar de tudo que herdou quando ficar casada por pelo menos um ano. Obviamente Alícia é aquele tipo de menina rica que nunca pensou na possibilidade de ter um trabalho fixo, casa e marido, e enfim, assim que toda sua fortuna lhe é tirada do dia para a noite ela terá que se virar como nós meros mortais não ricos da sociedade. No meio dos perrengues que começa a passar ela bola um plano de conseguir uma marido de mentira para poder receber a herença, mas ao escolher o pretendente perfeito ela começa a ter dúvidas a respeito de seus sentimentos por ele.

A gente já saca de cara que ela vai se apaixonar pelo cara e que no final eles ficarão juntos (afinal comédias românticas pedem isso) mas você não consegue não ler. Os personagens são muito bem contruídos, e você se diverte com as experiências de Alícia enfrentando situações tão comuns ao nosso dia a dia. A cena dela pegando ônibus pela primeira vez aqui no Brasil é hilária.

Eu li a história toda imaginando  as cenas como um filme. Acho que seria um perfeita adapatação.

Estou curiosa para ler o spin-off do livro, que vai contar a história de uma outra funcionária das empresas Lima e do irmão de Max, Marcus. Quando você termina a história de Procura-se um marido, você realmente fica com vontade de ter conhecido mais este personagem em específico, e achei que a autora foi genial em fazer uma história só dele depois.

A única crítica que tenho a respeito da história é que achei muito extensa. O livro poderia ter terminado lá pela página 300 e pouco, mas termina com 472 páginas. Temos aí 100 páginas que acho que poderiam ter sido descartadas. Tudo que foi contado nelas pra mim foi meio que irrelevante pra história principal, famosa enchição de linguiça.

 

It was the first book I read from Carina, and the first national read in the book club.

I really enjoyed the experience and the book gave me lots of laughs. I think Carina has proven to be a great romantic comedy writer with this story. You know from the beginning how the story will end, yet you get stuck enough not to drop the book to the end.

The story revolves around Alicia, who is the only heir of the empire built by her grandfather, who upon dying leaves a will stating that she can only enjoy everything she has inherited when she has been married for at least a year. Obviously Alicia is that kind of rich girl who never thought about the possibility of having a fixed job, house and husband, and finally, as soon as all her fortune is taken from day to night she will have to become like us not rich mere mortals of the society. In the middle of the ups and downs that she begins to pass she comes up with a plan to get a fake husband to be able to receive the inheritance, but in choosing the perfect suitor she begins to have doubts about his feelings for him.

We already know that she will fall in love with the guy and that in the end they will be together (after all romantic comedies ask for it) but you can’t stop reading. The characters are very well built, and you have fun with the experiences of Alicia facing situations so common to our day to day. Her scene taking a bus for the first time here in Brazil is hilarious.

I read the whole story by imagining the scenes as a movie. I think it would be a perfect fit.

I am curious to read the spin-off of the book, which will tell the story of another employee of Lima companies and Max’s brother, Marcus. When you finish the story of “looking for a husband”(still not officially translated to English) you really feel like wanting to know more about this specific character, and I thought the author was great at making a story of him afterwards.

The only criticism I have about the story is that I thought it very extensive. The book could have ended by page 300 and something, but it ends with 472 pages. We have 100 pages that I think could have been discarded. Everything that was told in them in my opinion was kind of irrelevant to the main story, famous “sausage filling” (not sure how I could say this expression in English).
