Antes que eu vá – Lauren Oliver (Before I fall)

Terminei o livro numa noite e já tive que sentar escrever sobre ele pois fiquei tão impressionada com a história que sonhei a noite toda com ela.

O livro pode parecer ter uma história manjada, mas não é bem assim. Ele conta a história de Sam, que após um acidente de carro com suas 3 melhores amigas acorda todo dia no mesmo dia em que sofreu o acidente e morreu. E isso irá se repetir por 7 dias.

Essa história é muito boa pois ela não é apenas sobre o que realmente estava acontecendo para ela voltar todo dia neste mesmo dia.

Há muita reflexão sobre como todos nós vivemos momentos sem saber que estes podem ser nossos últimos momentos. Há muita reflexão sobre tudo que todo mundo deixa de fazer pois dá como certo que terá um amanhã, é o caso de Sam.

Mas além disso iremos ver um caso de bullying muito de perto e tudo que isso pode acarretar na vida de uma pessoa. E paralelo a isso o poder de uma amizade verdadeira, do amor verdadeiro e da fidelidade.

Para mim foi impossível não me apaixonar pelo Kent e o tipo de fidelidade que ele mostra para com Sam. Quando você finalmente descobre porque ele age do jeito que age com ela é tão tocante que mesmo sabendo que Sam está morta você deseja muito que ela pudesse viver apenas por ele.

Já o motivo de Rachel odiar tanto Juliet é surpreendente e será decisivo para que Sam consiga sair desse loop.

Vale muito a pena a leitura, mas se você foi do tipo que não curte finais “tristes” é melhor nem se arriscar.

I finished the book one evening and I had to sit down and write about it because I was so impressed with the story that I dreamed about it all night long.

The book may seem to have a known story, but it’s not quite that. It tells the story of Sam, who after a car accident with her 3 best friends wakes up every day on the same day she suffered the accident and died. Happening that will repeat itself for 7 days.

This story is very good because it’s not just about what was happening for her to come back every day  at the same day.

There is much reflection on how we all live moments without knowing that these can be our last moments. There is much reflection on everything that everyone fails to do because takes for granted that there will be a tomorrow, this is the case with Sam.

But in addition, we will see a case of bullying very closely and all that this can cause in the life of a person. And parallel to this is the power of true friendship, true love, and fidelity.

It was impossible for me not to fall in love with Kent and the kind of loyalty he shows toward Sam. When you finally find out why he acts the way he acts with her it’s so touching that even knowing that Sam is dead you wish she could live just because of him.

Now the reason Rachel hates Juliet is surprising and will be decisive for Sam to get out of this loop.

Totally worth reading, but if you are the type that does not enjoy “sad” endings it’s best not to take chances.
