Em busca de Cinderella – Colleen Hoover (Finding Cinderella)

Um livro com muito romance para um dia romântico. Colleen não decepcionou nesse. Aliás, essa mulher é muito fodona. De todos que lemos no clube do livro dela, não gostamos de 2 (explicarei isso em outro post).

Daniel é amigo de Dean Holder. Nós o conhecemos rapidamente no primeiro livro desta série, Um Caso Perdido. Depois o vemos um pouco mais no segundo livro narrado por Dean, Sem Esperança . E no terceiro volume desta série finalmente conheceremos a sua história de amor (que na minha opinião roubou a série).

Ele comenta a respeito desta história por cima nos dois primeiros livros. Ele encontra uma menina misteriosa no armário das vassouras da escola ( a qual ele apelida de Cinderella por conta do local) onde ele se esconde para matar aula e dormir. Os dois acabam tendo um encontro único e inesquecível, porém um ano se passa e ela nunca mais volta. Até que Daniel conhece então, Six, a melhor amiga de Sky que acaba de voltar de um intercâmbio na Itália e a atração entre os dois é instantânea.

Se você não é mto ingênuo(a) vai perceber que Six tem que ser Cinderela por todos os fatos apresentados. E não, não tô dando spoiler porque isso tá no resumo do livro. Mas tudo que vem após isto não é tão previsível assim e pra mim deixou a história, que é apenas uma pequena novela, muito mais interessante. Fiquei com um gostinho de quero mais desses personagens. E devo admitir que até Sky e Holder estão mais legais neste livro. Foi uma daquelas leituras supresas boas sabe!? Peguei não dando nada e acabei gostando tanto quanto a história original. Vale MTO a pena se você já leu Hopeless e Losing Hope.

Pessoalmente acho que histórias de spin-off funcionam muito mais do que continuações da história principal ou versões. No caso desta série Losing Hope foi interessante pois apesar de mostrar a mesma história de Hopeless mas sob o ponto de vista de Holder, nós ficamos sabendo de muita história que não é contada no primeiro volume, e Colleen conseguiu balancear tudo de forma que você fica muito curioso para preencher esses espaços.em branco da história. No caso de Em Busca de Cinderella, o assunto desenvolvido é outra história envolvendo 2 personagens apresentados nos 2 primeiros livros. Achei que super funcionou. Dá pra comprar os 3 sem medo de gastar dinheiro a tôa.

A book with lots of romance for a romantic day. Colleen didn’t disappoint in that. In fact, this woman is fucking good. From all the books we’ve read in our book club, we didn’t like only 2 (I’ll explain this in another post).

Daniel is friends with Dean Holder. We know him quickly in the first book of this series, Hopeless. Then we see a little more in the second book narrated by Dean, Losing Hope. And in the third volume of this series we will finally know his love story (which in my opinion stole the series).

He tells superficially this story in the first two books. He finds a mysterious girl in the school’s broom closet (which he calls Cinderella because of the meeting location) where he hides to ditch class and sleep. The two end up having a unique and unforgettable date, but a year goes by and she never comes back. Until Daniel meets Six, Sky’s best friend who has just returned from an exchange in Italy, and the attraction between the two is instantaneous.

If you are not naive, you will realize that Six must be Cinderella for all the facts presented. And no, I’m not spoiling because that’s in the book summary. But everything that comes after this is not so predictable and for me made the story, which is just a little novel, much more interesting. I got a taste of wanting more from these characters. And I must admit that even Sky and Holder are cooler in this book. It was one of those good surprise readings you know!? I caught it giving nothing and ended up enjoying it as much as the original story. So much worth to read if you’ve ever read Hopeless and Losing Hope!

Personally, I think spin-off stories work much more than continuations from the main story or versions. In the case of this series Losing Hope was interesting because despite showing the same story of Hopeless but under Holder’s point of view, we learn more about the same story but that is not told in the first volume, and Colleen managed to balance everything in a way that you stay very curious to fill these blank spaces of the story. In the case of Finding Cinderella, the subject matter is another story involving two characters featured in the first two books. I thought it super worked. You can buy the 3 books without fearing losing money.
