Bela Redenção – Jamie Mcguire (Beautiful Redemption)

Este é o livro que apresenta o meu Maddox  preferido, Thomas.

E por que ele é o meu preferido? Bem, ele é o mais velho dos 5 irmãos, é aquele que assume toda a responsabilidade pra ele quando a mãe morre cedo e o pai está ocupado demais com sua dor para lidar com crianças pequenas. Ele sempre se sacrificou para poder dar uma vida digna a todos eles, inclusive o pai. O único ponto em que Thomas pensa no que ele quer é quando vai trabalhar no FBI, mas para não deixar o pai preocupado por conta da promessa que havia feito para sua mãe ele acaba escondendo a profissão de todos. Também ficamos sabendo depois de ter lido a história de Trent e Cami, que Thomas só namorou Cami pois achou que o irmão havia desencanado dela quando começou a namorar outra menina. E quando ele descobre que Cami havia se envolvido com Trent ele acaba meio que abrindo mão dela mesmo ainda estando muito apaixonado.

Enfim, por estes e outros pequenos motivos ao longo dos livros ele foi se tornando meu preferido. E agora em Bela Redenção ele vai conhecer Liis Lindy, uma agente do FBI que acabou de ser transferida a pedido de Thomas para um cargo especial. O problema é que rola uma atração muito forte entre os dois desde quando eles se veem pela primeira vez quando ainda não sabiam que eram patrão e empregada e quando descobrem que terão que fingir serem namorados em uma nova missão as coisas podem meio que fugir do controle de ambos para o bem e para o mal.

Thomas vai finalmente achar alguém que combina com ele em todos os sentidos, mas Liis terá que superar fantasmas como o de Cami para que uma chance de relacionamento possa ser desenhada.

O 2º foi melhor que o 1º da história de Trent, e gente, temos cenas quentíssimas logo no começo do livro. Valeu Jamie!  Aliás, devo comentar que ela vai ficando melhor a cada livro nesse quesito. As histórias dos gêmeos Maddox são bem mais legais que os primeiros livros, mas isso é assunto para o próximo post.

This is the book that features my favorite Maddox, Thomas.

And why is he my favorite? Well, he’s the oldest of the 5 siblings, he’s the one who takes full responsibility of her brothers when his mother dies early and his father is too busy with his pain to deal with young children. He always sacrificed himself to give a decent life to all of them, including his father. The only point Thomas thinks about himself is when he goes to work at the FBI, but in order not to leave his father worried about the promise he made to his mother, he ends up hiding his profession from everybody. We also learned after reading Cami and Trent’s story that Thomas only dated Cami because he thought his brother was over her when he started dating another girl. And when he finds out that Cami had become involved with Trent he kind of ends up giving up on her even though he’s very much in love.

Anyway, for these and other small reasons throughout the books he was becoming my favorite. And now in Beautiful Redemption he will meet Liis Lindy, an FBI agent who has just been transferred due to a Thomas’s request to a special position on the team. The problem is that there was a very strong attraction between them since when they first met when they still didn’t know they were boss and employee, so when they find out they’ll have to pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend on a new mission things can sort of get out of control both for good and for bad.

Thomas is finally going to find someone who matches him in every way, but Liis should overcome ghosts like Cami so a chance for a relationship can be drawn.

The 2nd book was better than the 1st with Trent’s story, and folks, we have very hot scenes right at the beginning of this book. Thanks Jamie! By the way, I must tell that it is getting better with each book in this regard. The stories of the Maddox twins are much cooler than the first two books, but that’s a subject for the next post.
