A thriller book Paula style that delivers a very good story in which you try to discover the mystery and because of that can’t stop reading, but that contains too much characters in my opinion.

I liked a lot the 3 characters point of view on Girl in the train, and I thought Paula missed it in this book. Anyway, I guess the amount of characters narrating was on purpose since you take much more time to formulate a suspect and this amount of characters didn’t spoil the story at the end.

Main story takes place on a small town where several crimes occurred on the river that crosses it. Jules come back to the place she grew up because apparently her sister killed herself by jumping into this river. She has to take care of her niece and take care of her sister stuff, but neither her or Nell’s daughter believe she killed herself. In fact, she was obsessed about that river stories, and she was writing a book about it + she made a suspicious call to Jules some days before she died and this all can’t be a coincidence.

During the book we will discover more about Nell’s story, about Jules’s story and why she left that town among other stories of people that had their lives ended on the same place Nell was found.

I liked a lot the themes that were developed on Jules story. The stories about her were the heaviest on the book followed by the story on Nell’s daughter friend, Kate.
