Que livro arrebatador!

É extremamente interessante e angustiante visitar a mente de uma pessoa doente e criminosa. Interessante pois você começa a entender todo pensamento e motivação dela para cometer tais atos, e angustiante pois não há nada que você possa fazer para mudar tudo.

Nós iremos conhecer a história do ponto de vista de Joe Goldberg, um pacato funcionário de uma livraria de NYC, que se apaixona por uma das clientes que entra na loja um dia. A partir deste momento ele começará a persegui-la e colecionar tudo a respeito de sua vida.

Joe acredita piamente estar fazendo um favor a Beck a stalkeando. E ele acredita que só ele é capaz de cuidar dela do jeito “certo”. Mas o que ele vai descobrir é que há uma outra pessoa maluca na vida de Beck, sua amiga Peach. Joe descobre que Peach é, assim como ele, obcecada por ela de um jeito romântico e ambos irão meio que disputar território na vida de Beck.
Pessoal, é um livro elétrico. Você fica alerta pois o perigo é eminente em todos os capítulos que você lê.

Nós iremos descobrir muitas coisas a respeito de Joe, mas a grande surpresa do livro fica por conta da descoberta da personalidade de Beck, e é só isso que irei comentar. Acreditem, é uma leitura que vale a pena.

Na minha opinião, há um ponto mal explicado na história com respeito a um acidente com um yate e quando vocês lerem acho que entenderão meu comentário. Fora isso, considero uma perfeita primeira obra. Com certeza lerei mais coisas da Caroline.

PS. O livro virou série e após sua exibição na TV no canal americano Lifetime irá para o catálogo da Netflix. Por enquanto não temos data para a estreia na Netflix, mas estou louca para ver pois achei que Pen Badgley como Joe ficou perfeito, já que ele possui aquela cara de cute-but-pshyco-but-cute.

 

What an overwhelming book!

It is extremely interesting and tormenting to visit the mind of a sick and criminal person. Interesting because you begin to understand every thought and motivation from them to commit such acts, and tormenting because there is nothing you can do to change it.

We’ll get to know the story from Joe Goldberg’s point of view, a quiet employee at a NYC bookstore, who falls in love with one of the customers. From this moment he will begin to pursue  and collect everything concerning her life.

Joe clearly believes he’s doing Beck a favor by stalking her. And he believes that only he can take care of her in the “right” way. But what he’ll find out is that there’s another crazy person in Beck’s life, her friend Peach. Joe discovers that Peach, like him, is obsessed by Beck, in a romantic way, and both will sort of dispute territory in Beck’s life.

Guys, it’s an electric book. You stay alert because the danger is imminent in all the chapters you read.

We’ll find out a lot about Joe, but the big surprise in the book is the discovery of Beck’s personality , and that’s all I’m going to say. Believe me, it’s a worthwhile read.

In my opinion, there is one point missing a bit more explanation in the story regarding an accident with a yacht and when you read I think you will understand my comment. Other than that, I consider it a perfect first work. I’m sure I’ll read more books from Caroline.

PS. The book was adapted into a series and after it ends up being aired on the American channel Lifetime  it will be on Netflix. For now we have no date for the Netflix premiere, but I’m crazy to see because I think Pen Badgley as Joe was a perfect choice, since he has that cute-but-pshyco-but-cute face needed.
