Sem Você Não É Verão – Jenny Han (It’s Not Summer Without You)

OBS: Este livro é a sequência de O Verão Que Mudou Minha Vida, e portanto os comentários abaixo podem conter spoiler caso você não tenha lido o primeiro volume.

 

O segundo volume talvez tenha sido o que eu li mais rápido pois fiquei muito curiosa para saber se Belly ia ou não continuar com Conrad. A narração é demais, eu simplesmente estou apaixonada pelo jeito da Jenny Han narrar, mas a mexicanisse desse número 2 começa a se elevar, o que convenhamos só fez eu querer ler mais rápido pra desenrolar todo esse bololô amoroso logo.
E gente, meu ódio pelo Conrad foi elevado ao cubo nesse livro. Odeioooo ele! Puta cara chato! Egoísta! E obviamente meu amor pelo Jere só aumentou.
Neste segundo livro Belly e todos ao seu redor tentam lidar com a doença e iminente falta de Becky. Este fato pesará demais na vida de todos e diversos acontecimentos serão encadeados justamente por conta disso, tanto da parte dos adultos da história (marido de Becky, Laurel), quanto dos filhos deles (Belly, Jere e Conrad).
No final do 1o livro Belly havia revelado a Conrad que o amava, e eles meio que engatam um romance. Chegam a sair juntos como o final do primeiro livro mostra, mas depois daquilo Becky piora e Conrad vai ficando cada vez mais ausente. Será que há chances de isso realmente se tornar um namoro? Belly ainda vai conseguir entender o que se passa na cabeça de Conrad?
Ao mesmo tempo, Jere, depois de também ter revelado seu amor por Belly no 1o livro, tenta seguir em frente, arrumar uma nova namorada, mas no final acaba vendo que ainda não conseguiu parar de pensar em Belly.
O triângulo amoroso estará mais forte do que nunca e eles serão unidos em Cousins Beach novamente quando Conrad some de casa sem deixar explicações e Belly e Jere saem juntos em seu resgate.

Foi realmente tocante ver como cada um lidou com a dor da perda de Becky. Até a mãe de Belly que é descrita como a pessoa mais forte e que menos demonstra sentimentos foi pega totalmente desprevenida com tudo. Agora, ninguém conseguirá me convencer que Conrad não é um completo idiota por ter feito tudo que fez com Belly, a mãe dele estando viva ou morta. Esse fato não justifica ele ter brincado com os sentimentos dela sabe.
Ele me lembrou de todos os caras mais idiotas que já fiquei nessa minha vida. Pessoas que honestamente eu não consigo imaginar estando na minha vida hoje, já que não possuiam consideração alguma para brincar com sentimentos alheios.
A única coisa que me fez ter um pouco mais de apreço por ele foi o fato dele ter largado tudo e ido tentar salvar a casa de Cousins Beach quando soube que seu pai iria querer vendê-la. Isso me fez ter um pouco de simpatia por ele.
Agora, Jere foi só o mais fofo da história toda. Ele segurou a barra de todo mundo neste livro. No fim o filho mais novo que ninguém dava tanto crédito (principalmente o pai) foi o que se mostrou mais forte.

The second volume was perhaps was the one I read faster because I was very curious to know if Belly would continue or not with Conrad. The narration is awesome, I’m just in love with Jenny Han way to narrate, but the “mexicanisse” of this number 2 begins to rise, which I must admit only made me want to read it faster to get all the love trouble solved soon.
And people, my hate for Conrad was cubed this book. I hate him! He’s so annoying! Selfish! And obviously my love for Jere only increased.
In this second book Belly and everyone around her is trying to deal with the disease and impending lack of Becky. This fact will weigh too much in everyone’s life and various events will be linked precisely because of that, both on the part of adults in the story (Becky’s husband, Laurel), and of their children (Belly, Jere and Conrad).
At the end of the first book Belly had revealed to Conrad she loved him, and they kind of became lovers. They go out together at the end of the first book, but after that Becky gets worse and Conrad gets increasingly absent. Any chances of this actually becoming a dating? Will Belly be able to understand what’s going on inside Conrad’s head?
At the same time, after Jere also revealed his love for Belly in the first book, he tries to move on, getting a new girlfriend, but only to end up seeing he could not stop thinking about Belly.
The love triangle is stronger than ever and they will be reunited again in Cousins ​​Beach house when Conrad leaves without any explanations and Belly and Jere come together in their rescue.

It was really touching to see how each of them dealt with the pain of losing Becky. Even Belly’s mother who is described as the strongest person was caught totally off guard with everything. Now, no one can convince me that Conrad is not a complete idiot for doing everything that he made Belly, his mother being alive or dead. This fact does not justify he playing with her feelings.
He reminded me of all the dumbest guys I’ve already dated. People who honestly I can not imagine being in my life nowadays because of their lack of any consideration to play with other people’s feelings.
The only thing that made me appreciate him a little more was the fact that he dropped everything he was doing and tried to save Cousins ​​Beach house when he discovered that his father would want to sell it. It made me have a little sympathy for him.
Now, Jere was just the cutest of the whole story. He supported everyone in this book. At the end the youngest son who nobody gave much credit (especially the father) was the one that proved to be strongest.
