Clubes do livro (Book clubs)

Clubes do livro (Book clubs)

Snapshot 1 (05-01-2019 23-36)

Achei sensacional. Tô amando!

O primeiro livro que estamos discutindo é If you come softly da Jacqueline Woodson.

Snapshot 2 (05-01-2019 23-37)

A different post to start 2019. I want to talk about the book clubs I’m attending.

I think you guys that usually read my the posts have noticed that I have a book club with some friends here in my town, and that we are always meeting and reading cool books, especially contemporary novels.

In 2018 we met less than in previous years because Talita, one of my friends, had little Valentina to care, however we communicated and debated many readings through whatsApp and in the meetings that we were able to do. I believe the balance for the year still remained positive. We nicknamed our club as Jaguar book club.

But besides this club I always wanted to participate in something else, because I love having reasons that encourage me to read more. I thought for a long time on signing  TAG, but it lacked that final element to convince me, so I had not done it until then.

It was when John Green announced on his and Hank’s channel (which I follow and LOVE!) That he and Rosianna Halse Rojas would launch  Life’s Library Book Club, where we would have an online platform to discuss with others participants and, finally, to know what they thought of the titles they would choose for the club. Then I subscribed for it, because man, it’s John, it’s my nerd crush, it’s the writer of several books I love, it’s the guy I wait every Tuesday to see messing up his hair and talking things I would talk to my husband on a video. Seriously, I love this man. So of course, I had to be part of this club.

The bad part is that since I live in Brazil and this club is from the US, I kind of have been forced to sign an online version of it, since I can’t imagine me waiting forever for the book with the bad post office we have in Brazil. The good part is that buying the ebook, I can discuss real time with everyone from there on the DISCORD platform, which is very cool. We have been able to debate the book by chapters or subjects. I think it’s pretty awesome. I’m in love with the club as a whole!

The first book we are discussing is If you come softly by Jacqueline Woodson. I already read it in December, so I’ll post here and on youtube speaking a little about the story, which is really very cool and worth to be read.

Too bad you need to know English to participate on the club. But seriously, if you read well but do not speak so well, I say go ahead and join if you feel like it, because everything is done by text, so you will have to basically read and write.

My literary life was almost complete, but when Carina Rissi announced that she would make her romance club in partnership with Galera Record, I also had to sign it because you know people, it’s romance and it’s Carina Rissi.

Now I look forward to the first book, which should come between January and February because the club sends a book each two month. Anyway I’m posting on video or here on the blog about the books I’ll read both in this club and John’s.
