Maze Runner Cura Mortal – James Dashner ( Death Cure)

OBS: Se você ainda não leu o 1o e o 2o livros de Maze Runner e Prova de Fogo provavelmente não deveria ler nada a respeito deste terceiro livro já que poderá estar lendo spoilers com respeito a história como um todo.

 

Sem dúvida alguma posso dizer que desde Hunger Games eu não gostava tanto de uma distopia. Maze Runner superou em todos os aspectos minhas expectativas. Posso dizer que tiver dias de pura doce/amarga agonia querendo saber o que iria acontecer na história, e este 3o volume só veio para coroar isto.
Gostei do desenrolar de tudo e achei o final bem OK e honesto com o que o autor estava propondo.
A pergunta que fica na sua cabeça durante grande parte do 2o livro e principalmente neste 3o é os fins realmente justificam os meios??
Neste 3o livro a história tomará um rumo no qual você ficará realmente sem saber se tudo que está acontecendo ainda é manipulação do CRUEL ou se realmente é tudo verdade. Janson, um dos membros do CRUEL oferece a opção para todos os sobreviventes da experiência no deserto de ter suas memórias resgatadas, e a maioria deles opta por tê-las de volta, inclusive Caçarola e Tereza, mas quando Minho, Newt e Thomas se recusam a passar pelo procedimento e relembrar seu passado, o CRUEL acaba tentando obrigá-los a o fazerem, mas eles conseguem fugir da base antes que isso ocorra com ajuda de Brenda e Jorge.
Eles então vão em busca de um cientista desertor do CRUEL, conhecido de Brenda, que pode ajudá-los a retirar os chips de controle que ainda estão dentro da cabeça dos 3. Quando chegam na cidade para procurá-lo descobrem que todos os outros sobreviventes dos experimentos, que também fugiram da base do CRUEL, estão lá, e descobrem que há um grupo chamado Braço Direito, do qual Gally faz parte, que quer acabar com o CRUEL.
Será que unindo forças os dois grupos terão alguma chance de realmente acabar com o CRUEL? Será que tudo isso é real e não mais parte do experimento realizado pelo CRUEL com eles? Quem não está mentindo? Quem é realmente fiel a fugir das experiências dos CRUEL?
Neste livro todas as dúvidas serão respondidas e você saberá quem é fiel a quem.

Novamente as palavras da contra capa do livro são extremamente interessantes por resumirem bem tudo que acontecerá na história. Muitas conspirações e segredos sendo revelados até o final.

Desde o começo deste livro eu super achei que o Thomas ia rodar no final. Achei que ele não terminasse o livro vivo, e quase acertei, porque se dependesse do CRUEL ele teria sido morto e seu cérebro dissecado pra estudo. Absurdo sem tamanho! Aliás, quando você descobre que eles colocaram centenas de pessoas neste experimento para no fim matar todas…sério, é absurdo. Nada justifica essa matança, nem mesmo estudos pra uma cura de algo que está matando mais pessoas. Pra mim os fins não justificam os meios. Há muitas variáveis aí no meio a serem consideradas.
Gostei muito de toda história. A coisa mais triste ever foi ver Newt ficando doidão, e Thomas tendo que matá-lo a pedido do próprio amigo. Imagina essa situação!
E enfim, embora Tereza aparentemente tenha se arrependido de tudo que fez no final, não achei ruim ela não ter conseguido ir para o abrigo da Chanceler Paige. Aliás, que que foi aquela fala da Brenda no final hein!? Dá aquele arrepio e você chega a pensar, mais um experimento!?
Com certeza vou lembrar desta história por anos a fio…mto mto boa!

Without a doubt I can say that since I read The Hunger Games I haven’t liked a dystopia as I did with this one. Maze Runner exceeded all my expectations. I can say I have days of bitter-sweet agony wondering what would happen in the story, and this third volume only came to crown it.
I liked the storyline and thought that the end was good and honest with what the author was proposing.
The question that remains in your head for most part of the second book and especially in this third one is “do the ends really justify the means”?
In this third book the story will take a course in which you will really not know if all that is happening is still the W.I.C.K.E.D. acting behind it or if it really is all true. Janson, one of the W.I.C.K.E.D. members offers the option for all survivors of the desert experience of having their memories rescued, and most of them choose to have their memories back, including Cassarola and Tereza, but when Minho, Newt and Thomas refuse to do the procedure and recall their pasts, the W.I.C.K.E.D. tries to force them to do it, but they manage to escape their base before this occurs with the help of Brenda and Jorge.
Then they go in search of a renegade scientist the W.I.C.K.E.D., known by Brenda, who can help them to remove the control chips that are still inside their heads. When they arrive in the city of Denver to search for him they discover that the other survivors the experiments who also ran away from the W.I.C.K.E.D.’s base are there, and discover that there is a group called Right Arm, which Gally is part of, who wants to destroy the the W.I.C.K.E.D..
Will join the groups forces make them have a chance to actually destroy the W.I.C.K.E.D.? Is this all real or only part of the experiment conducted by the W.I.C.K.E.D. with them? Who is not lying? Who is really faithful to destroy the W.I.C.K.E.D.’s experiments?
In this book all questions will be answered and you will know who is faithful to whom.

Again the words in the back of the book’s cover are extremely interesting for summarize all things that will happen in story. Many conspiracies and secrets being revealed until the end.

Since the beginning of this book I super thought Thomas would not be in the end. I thought he would not finish the book alive, and I was almost right because if it depended on the W.I.C.K.E.D. he would have been killed and his brain dissected for study. Absurd without proportions! In fact, when you discover that they put hundreds of people in this experiment just to kill them all … seriously, it is absurd. Nothing can justify this killing, not even a study for a cure of something that is killing more people. My opinion, the ends do not justify the means. There are many variables there in the middle to be considered.
I really enjoyed the whole story. The saddest thing ever was to see Newt getting crazy, and Thomas having to kill him as a last wish. Imagine this situation!
And finally, although Tereza has apparently regretted all she did in the end, I did not think it was a bad idea that she was not able to go to Chancellor Paige’s shelter. Moreover, what was that speech Brenda gave at the end huh !? It gives that thrill and you start thinking, another experiment !?
I will definitely remember this story for years … very very good!
